Two Bosses Enter: Hadronox vs. Zuramat the Obliterator

To battle! This week, Two Bosses Enter, One Boss Leaves pits Hadronox (Azjol-Nerub) against Zuramat the Obliterator (Violet Hold). Poison against shadow damage ... the not-yet-trapped versus the already imprisoned ... Can you predict the outcome?
The usual rules apply: Assume that these foes share similar levels, health pools and damage output. We'll allow Zuramat to summon his Void Sentries, even though Hadronox himself will be the only victim of Void Shift. This match occurs in neutral territory -- no additional Nerubian spiders, no handy Violet Hold wall switches.
Focus your debate on the three S's: Style, Story and Scale. Don't get caught up in game mechanics and what actual players might do in each encounter. Consider the flavor each villainous gladiator brings to bear, leave your comment on what you think would happen and why, and then cast your vote for who you think would come out on top.
HadronoxAre the Scourge trying to capture a giant spider to change into an Undead creature of war? When first encountered, Hadronox (the second boss of Azjol-Nerub) normally appears to be under attack by the Anub'ar. In this Two Bosses Enter deathmatch, we will not consider the presence of any spiders other than Hadronox himself.
Hadronox deposits great circles of poisonous acid on the ground and is capable of healing himself via his Leech Poison effect. His Web Grab could pull Zuramat's Void Sentries into range of the Acid Cloud -- will his timing work in his favor? And will Hadronox's poison-based healing counteract his opponent's ugly Shroud of Darkness debuff?

Zuramat the ObliteratorGaze ... into the void.
Zuramat the Obliterator is a huge Void Lord (Demon) imprisoned in the Violet Hold. He summons Void Sentries during battle, which are only able to be seen and killed when under the effects of Zuramat's Void Shift debuff. His Shroud of Darkness debuff is capable of stacking so many times that it could actually provide negative healing (i.e., DPS) to a self-healing opponent like Hadronox.
Will Zuramat's Shroud of Darkness debuff be able to counteract Hadronox's poison-based healing? Will Zuramat's Void Sentries find themselves choked out in Hadronox's Acid Cloud?

The smackdown
The usual rules apply: assume that the opponents share similar levels, health pools and damage output. They are fighting in neutral territory; there will be no Nerubian spiders or Violet Hold wall switches to come into play. We'll allow Zuramat to summon his Void Sentries, even though Hadronox himself will be the only victim of Void Shift.
Can you come up with a convincing scenario in the comments that will sway other readers to vote for your chosen victor?

First! obviously Zuramat wins
doradus Apr 16th 2009 6:48PM
i have to say, no matter how many times i have been through VH, i have never fought that void...
so from past experience, i only really know hadronox's abilities
and yeah i know this isnt about past experiences but i need to see how the void fights
im voting for hadronox, because... well i dunno, just have a gut feeling :P

Hadronox for sure, leech poison + enemy adds = free HoTs. Zuramat is down before enough stacks of Shroud turn it around due to his inability to cleanse poisons.
Angus Apr 16th 2009 6:48PM
Yea, I was thinking the same thing.
"Oh look adds, I needed health, thanks!!"
Leech poison is going to more than negate the damage of the adds and Shroud just isn't going to be enough to stop it. 30 per stack vs 1K per second... That's going to have to stack pretty darn high.
Add the acid cloud and armor pierce and the void walker is going to wish he had just behaved and tanked Sarth like the warlock told him to.

But Hadronox's Leech Poison can't target those adds unless Zuramat casts Void Shift, which he probably wouldn't do.

Hadronox would win poisons would destroy the adds and thats all zuramat has going for him he doesnt hit that hard. (this is coming from a priest healer POV)
I can only guess that people are voting zuramat because they like voidwalkers more than spiders =/

I can only go by personal experience; Hadronox has killed me more often than Zuramat.
Xavs Apr 16th 2009 6:43PM
Zuramat would obliterate Hadronox.
Sure Hadronox has leech posion, but I doubt he'd be able to successfully kill all of the Void Sentries.
It's like trying to down Zuramat with a PuG that's never even heard of VH.

Ever see a pug that hasn't seen Hadronox?
They don't cleanse the poison... 1K DPS that also heals him PER ADD. Doesn't matter if he doesn't kill them.
Trenan Apr 16th 2009 6:52PM
So long as Hadronox knew when to stop using leech poison he has this, since the poison isnt his only attack he could kill them with.
Hoggersbud Apr 16th 2009 7:01PM
Zuramat I think has an advantage against Hadronox because of his Shroud of Darkness.
It reduces healing, and it stacks. So unless we get hung up on the numbers thing, this means that Leech Poison won't work, and Zuramat gets to make Spider Kabobs.

I vote Zuramat...Has given me MUCH more trouble than hadronox.
eddiebinde531 Apr 16th 2009 7:34PM
I believe Hadronox will easily win this, while it's just him and Zuramat, he can pierce Zuramat's defenses and munch on him while throwing down acid clouds and web wrapping Zuramat into them. Leech Poison isn't doing much here, with or without Shroud of Darkness but every little bit helps.
Then the Void Sentries are summoned and as always Zuramat has to Void Shift someone so Hadronox gets it by default, goes in and starts beating down the sentries. If Shroud is up he can just wait and throw down Poison Clouds on just the sentries and once it wears off, start using Leech Poison to drain and kill them while recovering more health than Zuramat can take down. The spider lives another day as he excutes this prisoner.

With Zuramat, when he shrouds anyone that attacks him gets a healing debuff, so eventually the leach poison will be useless since Hadronox will get a -100% healing debuff, then it's all easy street from there for Zuramat
Kuwadora Apr 16th 2009 7:55PM
Hadronox in a cake walk...because I'm thinking that tiny void spawns are too dumb to move out of the AoE, and one the poison is up on them, each one that dies is 10% hp for Hadronox. On the other hand, it is possible that they are more brilliant than the average Naxx pug on Grobbulus...but I'm thinking not.
Sanguinefrozenboy Apr 16th 2009 7:56PM
Hadronox because he'll leech poison the adds. Also, poison cloud would kill him since he's not smart enough to move.
Hadronox is just tougher period.
Mognet T Apr 16th 2009 8:06PM
I wish this always didn't come down to "Which boss did I have a harder time fighting..." for most people. Sadly, it looks like the wrong guy is winning. :P
When the adds spawn, Hadronox nukes them with AoEs and gets his life back. Zuramat has nothing on him after losing those invisible helpers. Hadronox wins this one easy.
Ayane Apr 16th 2009 8:36PM
My money is on the huge spider-thing. o_O
Taish Apr 16th 2009 8:39PM
Hadranox, spindly legs down. The leech poison is not only AoE, but when he kills a mob or player he regains significant % of health, how else would he fight his way through all those mobs before finally webbing them in?
I don't think Zuramat could put out the damage to get through all the healing.
Virusz Apr 16th 2009 8:47PM
Zuramat because of his voice acting.
