I'm working on getting the Explorer achievements with my hunter and I couldn't agree more. As for favorite places, let's see...
Winterspring is beautiful and peaceful, despite how many things there are that try to kill you. I don't know what it is about the mix of purple sky and snow, but it really makes the zone unique.
I like Tanaris because it truly feels like this massive desert. The endless sands, the dried-out skeletons, the feeling that there's something amazing waiting just over the next dune... yeah, I've spent a lot of time there.
I haven't yet hit Northrend, but I absolutely love Outland, and Nagrand especially with my hunter. The huge, open fields with dozens upon dozens of beasts for the hunting? Ohhhh yeah. I did the Nesingwary quests there and have never done a better grind, just 'cause it well and truly made me feel like a hunter, the whole zone is just paradise if you've got that mindset.
And then I went to Netherstorm, which blew my mind. *grin*
Also: I feel your pain about aggroing everything within a three-zone radius. One of my best friends plays like that. There's a reason she just respecced to tankadin.

You didn't enter Northrend? Just wait to see Howling Fjord... There are no words.

Howling Fjord truly is stunning. They did so well with the design of that zone that Borean Tundra, the other starting zone feels painful to level in, despite having it's own charming areas.
