BlizzCast episode 9 released
BlizzCast #9 was released very recently, and it's quite short this time around, only about 11 minutes long. It's short because it only covers one thing. It contains Chris Metzen reading the prologue to Arthas: Rise of the Lich King.
The prologue is centered primarily on the native races in Northrend and how they react to the unnatural storms brought on by the Lich King's inner turmoil; the Tuskarr through community and the Taunka through defiance. We also see the exact nature of that turmoil, catching a glimpse of just how much of Arthas is left in there (or Ner'zhul for that matter), and we see it all to the tune of Metzen's sultry voice.
This book has definitely had more hype around it than any other Warcraft novel, and I'm curious if this will be the case with their books from now on or if Arthas is getting special treatment. Like I've said before, this is already my favorite of the Warcraft novels, but is this sort of hype necessary? Maybe they're just excited about it, and that's all there is to it. Who knows? I suppose we'll find out if this is par for the course once they're ready to put out that Malfurion novel.

Metzen needs to narrate children's books with that voice, imo.

For some reason, which I'm not complaining about, Barnes and Noble sent me my pre-order of the book early. I'm about half way through now and I'm enjoying it. I'd say its one of the best Warcraft books written so far. However, there is one sub plot that is starting to get on my nerves and rather than it driving home a serious point it makes me laugh and that takes away from the book. Everytime it comes up I keep going wtf! Anyways if you plan on getting this book despite all the hype its getting you won't be disappointed.

I know exactly which subplot you're talking about, and it drove Daniel and I nuts, too. I still love the book, but that little side-story is the worst thing in it.

Barnes and Nobles has the book at their bookstores now.
I just bought mine today - The last word on the first paragraph of the first page is endured.
And I love the full color pictures that they have just inside the cover :-)

As the Cast isn't online anymore, does someone have a mirror?

They should do audiobooks for all their Warcraft novels with Chris Metzen, great narration.
