FigurePrints celebrates Ulduar with 10% discount
In celebration of the release of Patch 3.1, Secrets of Ulduar, FigurePrints is having a little sale. When placing your order, if you enter the promotional code 'ULDUARSECRET' you'll get 10% off of the price of your Print. Normal price being $129.95, you get $13 off bringing the subtotal to $116.95. Shipping is about $20, so your print would come to $136.90. This sale will only last through the 30th, so you have a little under two weeks to make your purchase.I suspect that discounted price is still too high for most people, and only the crazy folk like me will pick up on it. I bought a FigurePrint at full price awhile back, and it was certainly worth it to me, even if the print was much smaller than I expected it to be. It was less a monument to my character, and more a little physical memory of what I've been doing for four years. That's worth $150 to me. To most people? Probably not. That's rather steep for what you get, even if it is crafted for your character.
A tip from me to you: When picking the equipment and pose for your FigurePrint, be mindful of your weapon placement. My Priest was wielding Anathema and holding it out to her side in my print, which looks cool but meant the figure had to be placed off-center to fit under the glass dome they put it in. That's something I didn't even think about until it arrived at my house. It's still a great print, the off-centerness just drives me a little nuts when I look closely at it.
It's also really hard to get a close-up picture of my print through the glass dome, I found. My camera distorts it all crazy-like, so I apologize for the poor quality image above. The colors are a bit washed out on my print, but not quite as badly as it appears there. You can see a bigger picture of my FigurePrint's setup over in my miscellaneous gallery.

Four wives?
I smell a Jerry Springer episode in the making.

I have one of my NE Hunter and I love it. Even though I play horde now I still think it rocks. She was my first 70 and my first toon. I do plan on getting my 80 DK Tauren done next,

Eh, they still look dusty and ugly as hell to me. /shrug

Indeed, lack of colours and lack of expected excellence for the expensive costs put these off my list. I can understand some people wanting and getting them. However I am waiting for a superior alternative. That day, will come.

i have one of my paly wearing full scarlet set and tabard.

Let's see...
Jack Candleholder: Disney Store
Metal Lich King Helm: BlizzCon
Ein: Found it in a random comic store
Dice: http://www.gamescience.com/
The books beneath them are just various books my girlfriend and I own, with no particular rhyme or reason to their arrangement.

More Screenshots next to things so we get a sense of scale please. Lets see it next to a pencil, quarter, phonebook, you know things that can give us a idea of how big it is.
Thander Apr 18th 2009 12:00PM
They are pretty small actually. I would say 3-8 inches depending on the race. (Gnomes 3 inches and Taurens probably 9inches). I am thinking about doing this when I finally decide to quit wow.
Alex Ziebart Apr 18th 2009 12:02PM
It's only about 6 inches tall. Anathema is dangerously thin at the angle its at, so I wouldn't recommend using a pose like that with that sort of weapon. If you want to use a stave, I think it would be smarter to pick a pose where it's closer to the body, or has more than one contact point with the rest of the figure. It probably *won't* fall off in the glass dome it comes in, but I'm paranoid that it will.
I suspect the figure's overall size is somewhat determined by how many sticky-outy parts it has, but I have nothing to prove that.

Ulduar celebration my ass! More like clever PR work...

Dang...I got this email a few days ago, and am really itching to pull the trigger. A while ago I went out and found the last pieces of the Black Dragon Mail set for my draenei hunter, and bought another hanzo sword (to hold in off hand, with Kel'Thuzad's reach in my main hand).
I know there are more prestigious sets of gear (I have a mix of T7 and T7.5 right now), but the Black Dragon set is just so unique, and it was two of the first really nice pieces I ever had crafted.
It represents one of my favorite times in WoW.

Were they to actually offer Hunter pets as part of the model, I'd grab one. Until then, a figureprint doesn't capture my character as it should.
Sean Apr 18th 2009 3:32PM
That is exactly what my wife is waiting for. In fact, I would not be surprised if she gets one with her Spirit Beast and another with her faithful White Lion.
I'll probably get one at the same time, with my Druid proudly holding Earthwarden over his horns!

DATA DOG!

Figureprints look like ass.

What kind of material are they made of? I think if I ever got one (and really, I'd have to have a -lot- of extra cash floating around to even consider it), I'd do it solely to have a base to paint. With, you know, -vivid- colors.
