Maintenance extended by two hours

Not that this should be a surprise to anyone...But maintenance has been extended until 1:00 p.m. PDT / 4:00 p.m. EDT. There is no indication why the maintenance has been extended, but that's the norm as well.

We'll update this post with the latest news / server status when we have it.

I'll give out a general warning and not a ban this time:

I'll never understand why they don't over estimate maintenance and then SURPRISE us by being done early. Seems like a better business model.

I just feel sorry for those living on the east coast. Extra downtime like this can mean no playing time at all for some people.

When is the last time they made their initial maintenance estimate? Why not just start adding two hours to the estimate? Everyone knows they'll miss it every week. Smacks of a little bit of hubris or a whole lot of ignorance.

Actually I have known the realms (even since the release of Wrath) to come up earlier than the given time as I recall a guildy cussing that he missed 1.5 hours of play time because he scheduled other things to do. I lol'd.

Really, it is not that bad. Any MMO will face the same issues and, frankly, compared to other MMOs, WoW does not have half the uptime problems other have. But hey, please go play another game because we do need less whiners in the game. Kthx :)
Oh and regarding the 'paying them money to play' you really need to read those ToS and the fine print that they, and every other MMO, have :)
