Battle.Net issues today
Today is a Wednesday, and that means that there has to be some sort of Battle.Net authentication/login/game-version issue today. And guess what? There is!There is a long thread in the support forums about it, and the only blue response so far is that Blizzard is aware of the problem and they're working on it. Many, if not all, Battle.Net users are seeing an error stating the client cannot validate the game version (even after they've patched to 3.1.1).
There is no known fix yet. We'll update this post when there is more information to report.
Update: According to Neth everything is working now.

Battle.net is not talking to World of Warcraft!

Kinda late to post this considering it was down for an entire hour, and back up before you even posted this 'heads up.'

And yet nothing has been said about Wintergrasp...

Still glad I haven't switched my account to battle.net yet...

i could get in fine, i just need to do wow repair, check and reset files. and i was fine

A workaround is to run the repair utility, then log into the game via Wow.exe, bypassing the launcher. As long as the launcher isn't run anytime after running the repair, things appear to work fine. If you do run the launcher again, you'll have to re-run the repair utility.

They really got this battle.net garbage off to a great start.
So glad I didn't trust them for a second and waste my time switching.

So far these Battle.Net accounts have been a huge failure.

I switched over to Battle.net the day transfers were released, and I have had no troubles at all with logging in, patching, or what have you.

Same here, I've seen a lot about it but I haven't experienced any of it.

My launcher downloaded something and rebooted. I can log into the game with no problems.
Everything appears to be back to normal. My Battle.net account is working fine for me.

... I assume it's not all Battle.net account having these issues?
Because I merged my account the day it was first offered and I have never had an issue with it. O.o?
Boylinux Apr 22nd 2009 2:18PM
It works now.
AndremedaSC Apr 22nd 2009 2:18PM
I realize that not not all battle.net users seem to be impacted by these outages, but really, these ongoing issues are NOT a good advertisement for switching over.

You've got to be kidding!?!? I finally take the mobile authenticator plunge, and it's STILL not fixed?
Purrenen Apr 22nd 2009 2:31PM
Still no go on logging in. Hell, my updater was being a twat too.
I just snagged the patch from Filefront and eureka!
Jakeup Apr 22nd 2009 2:35PM
I had this issue earlier today, I ran the repair thing and it seemed to work afterwords.

I feel bad for all the Battle.net users. I told myself that I'm never going to switch until the customers O.K. their product. I'm at the point where I just don't trust any new content blizzard sends out. I'm waiting until I don't see any more debug versions because I'm here to play. Not work and QA their products.

Why no coverage of the WG vehicle issues plaguing alliance?
