Seeing as I can't post over on the American forums, I'll post here.
One tradition in my guild is if someone makes a horribly noobish mistake (standing in the fire, falling to their death, etc) we put the Triangle mark on them and call it the Nubhat. Always good for raising morale during wipe nights.

lol the nubhat! That is awesome.
We call that yellow/gold round mark the "cheese nipple." We didn't invent it, one of our guildies heard it somewhere else and we adopted it. We have all developed a superstitious belief that if we don't put the cheese nipple on a boss, we will not be able to down them. Often we will wipe a couple of times until someone goes "hey, we forgot the cheese nipple!" And then the mark will go up and we'll succeed on the next attempt.

Our guild calls it "the thong". It tends to weird the males out, which is delightful to us chicks.
