Val'anyr stats discovered [updated]

You can see the item's tooltip with stats at the right. They took a safe route and gave it a bunch of unobjectionable stats; there isn't a healer out there who can't use more Int or spell power, and haste is also pretty universal. Crit is potentially less useful for resto druids than for the other classes, but I'm sure druids won't be turning the mace down, either.
The other interesting thing about the stats is the lack of regen: no spirit, no mana per 5. This means that aside from the proc, there's nothing healer-specific about it (not that spirit is even really healer-specific these days). Of course, the proc is plenty to guarantee that the weapon goes solely to healers until they've all got theirs.
What I'm curious about is how long until we see one of these things on the realms. Have any of you readers been collecting fragments? How many do you have?

The "there it is" link does not work now.
Someone worked fast to scrub that from the Armory.

Seriously was hoping there would be different versions to suite different classes. Legendary fail for druids?

I think this is appropriate for your comment...

Seriously, Shamans love MP5 but it's not there. This is just a generic "healing" mace. That's why there are more than just Druids listed as able to use it.
Beldoro Apr 24th 2009 6:33PM
We've been pretty lucky, 4 shards out of 6 bosses downed so-far.
Fung Apr 24th 2009 6:34PM
i hope it stacks with Divine Aegis rather than just hitting its shielding ceiling faster.
i also hope some future instance has some cool thing that happens when you have it, ala "did HE send you here?" etcetc

I can think of a number of entities who would be freaked out by this weapon. Even if the other Old Gods don't recognize it, they'll recognize the brains splattered on it. :P
Tzi Apr 24th 2009 6:35PM
Of course they take it down just as I send a PM to our entire loot council linking it...
Valdorin Apr 24th 2009 6:41PM
Do we know if it shields more than a single target at a time yet?
Because if it only shields the individual you cast it on then its a tank healer only weapon and raid healers may aswell stop collecting shards now

So with these stats.. it must be a... HUNTER weapon!
JamieG Apr 24th 2009 6:58PM
Exactly! Just look at that crit! And the haste! And the AP gained from stamina and intellect from talents! Clearly a hunter weapon by every definition.
elprohibi2 Apr 24th 2009 6:59PM
Uhh, im a resto druid an i prefer and benefit from crit as opposed to haste.
hold up Apr 24th 2009 7:30PM
You're not a good resto druid then.
elprohibi2 Apr 25th 2009 6:06AM
Nature's Grace + Living Seed makes crit valuable for Resto druids. Nature's Grace alone makes up for the haste lost when taken crit instead.
Dont judge me or my healing capacity just cuz im ahead of the curve. How about u present facts, back them up, and prove that im wrong or "a bad healer", otherwise dont type, just read silently.
Xioyn Apr 24th 2009 7:00PM
it will take 5 weeks if all the bosses that can drop the shard drop it
Meethan Apr 24th 2009 7:14PM
If you recall, Val'nyr is a class based weapon. These are most likely the stats everyone gets, and there will be additions per class.
Shizzylish Apr 24th 2009 7:21PM
Our guild has a holy paly with 4 or 5 fragments currently (I don't remember exactely). This all of the fragments we have had drop for us, across 2 raid lock out periods. We are have all bosses through Thorim down and are currently working on Mimiron.
Bubsa Apr 24th 2009 7:40PM
5 copper says that the shield is procs bugs out with Divine Aegis
Jay Apr 24th 2009 8:48PM
Those thinking this is only good for paladins or is no good for druids, are you actually reading the proc? If Blizzard actual wrote this to describe how it really behaves, any heal you cast will have a chance to put a buff on you so that for the next 15s all heals you cast will also shield the target for 15% of the amount healed.
This isn't Divine Aegis or a shield form of Living Seed. When you see this thing proc you can lay down Lifebloom or Chain Heal or Circle of Healing and be healing and shielding everyone. That's LEGENDARY and amazing for ANY healer.
