As a long time fisher, I've got to say that I only really want to see two changes. 1, I'd like to see the bobbers implemented. With the dailies implemented a lot of people are fishing; it would be nice to have something that makes it easy to distinguish your bobber. Currently I've been using my bone fishing pole for this because it doesn't have a visible fishing line, which let's my bobber stand out.2, I'd really like to see the STV tournament on a schedule like Wintergrasp or else see it removed from the Salty achievement. I'm not adverse to achievements, I'm not the best ever, but I'm sitting at around 5000 points. The thing is the tournament is always the same time and I can never make it. So I get 3-4 chances to do it a year on vacations, and then I have to compete with huge crowds.

I have to agree...I play on a pvp server and not only does the placement make it very difficult for me to even attempt the achievement I must also deal with the massive numbers of horde that frequent that area. The timing is also an issue as I am usually out doing something else on Sundays and do not have time to play...Maybe a tournament every couple hours is not possible as it would make certain items to easily accessible. But there should be some compromise because many casual players are unable to show up every weekend to try to win the tournament.

I got the Salty achievement already but I was in the same situation for a few years. I always worked on Sundays. In two years, I think I only made it three times when I got off early for some reason. When I changed jobs, I had Sundays free again and was able to complete it. I would not be opposed to them adding one more day, say a weekday evening, for the tournament.

I agree on dropping the stranglethorn fishing part of the title - I'm a Brit that still plays on an EU server but now lives in the US. To make the fishing comp I'd have to get up at 6am on a Sunday - just a bit too much like he real fishing for my liking!

I agree, the fishing tourney time needs to be adjusted. I have only done it a few times because of the inconvienent time frame. Sunday is pretty much booked in RL until the evening. I really enjoyed fishing in Stv since it has so much floating wreckage and a time=reward system appeals to me personally. To sit there and throw a line in the water repeatedly is mind numbing and I don't care how many casts it takes to level, give us a chance to get a green, recipe, trade supplies, or just some silver would make the experience worth the time investment. The way I see things, while leveling, fishing is a waste of limited time I have to gain experience and at 80 there are better things to do with far better rewards. Fishing = work.

As someone who works day shift in Operations I can agree to your number 2. It would be nice to have rotating or random times or something to that effect. I still believe it should be part of the Salty title though.I've worked Sundays even before the notion of a STV fishing tournament was conceived.

I quite agree. If something like Brewmaster gets moved then i think Winning a one only a week competition where there are regular people spoiling it so their Gmates can win is perfect reasonable. In fact id go so far to say winning the competition should ONLY give a feat of strenght, not actual achievement points also. That would get all the achievement wh*res AWAY from my fishing pools, leaving just the people who WANT to fish.
