Noblegarden FAQ
UPDATE: This guide has been revised for Noblegarden 2010.Noblegarden 2009 should be going live on the European realms in a few hours and then start popping up on realms elsewhere over the next day. Because so much of the holiday has changed and we've fielded a lot of questions from players about what's going on, we decided to write up a quick FAQ to the new (and vastly improved!) holiday.
Help! Where do I go to get started?
If you're Alliance, head to Azure Watch, Dolanaar, Goldshire, or Kharanos.
If you're Horde, head to Bloodhoof Village, Brill, Falconwing Square, or Razor Hill.
What am I supposed to do when I get there?
There will be questgivers in all of these towns who will give you a new daily, The Great Egg Hunt, and A Tisket, a Tasket, a Noblegarden Basket. The former will reward you with an item that will come in handy for an achievement (more on this in a little bit), but for both you're going to want to get started hunting down eggs in and around these level-5 towns. Once you've finished these quests, in order to get Noblegarden achievements done, you're going to need to be a dedicated egg hunter for a little while.
What do the Brightly Colored Eggs look like?
See the egg in the article's picture above? They're all variations on these colors and patterns and not generally tough to spot (although they are considerably smaller than the perspective in the picture makes them appear).
What do the eggs drop?
Most of the time they'll drop Noblegarden Chocolate, which can be eaten at any level and provide a stamina/spirit buff. Sound unexciting? They can also be saved and used as currency for ingame items at Noblegarden vendors located in all of the aforementioned level 5 towns. Each egg also has a small chance to drop the items you can buy at these vendors (like a noncombat pet or Noblegarden clothing) -- and you'll need almost all of them to get the meta-achievement Noble Gardener completed.
What are these vendors selling?
Thanks to Lesley, we have a screenshot of the Noblegarden vendor offerings (which are all the same regardless of location):

How many eggs do I need for Noblegarden achievements?
It's actually Noblegarden Chocolates and not eggs per se that you'll need. How many chocolates you'll need will depend on how lucky you get with drops from the eggs. If you wind up getting a lot of item drops, you won't need to spend as much chocolate at the vendors, but if you don't get any, plan on setting aside at least 365 chocolates.
Because the chocolates add up quickly and because most players do get several item drops while hunting eggs, this is usually a lot less time consuming than you might think.

Isn't this just going to be a nightmare of dozens of players trying to hunt down the few Noblegarden egg spawns?
Blizzard has increased the number of egg spawns from the holiday's pre-2009 version, and has also said that the number of spawns isn't affected by the number of players hunting for them (which we think means that one egg being looted causes another to spawn elsewhere).
To be perfectly frank, you will spend a lot more time trying to get eggs if the town you've picked is crowded with players, but the furor dies down within a few days and then you'll find dozens of eggs with little competition. If you're dead-set on doing the holiday as early as possible, try experimenting with different towns if you find your first choice to be too crowded. It's not unusual for, say, Razor Hill to be packed but Falconwing Square relatively uncrowded, or vice versa depending on the server.
Do older, pre-2009 maps of Noblegarden egg spawns work?
Nope. Toss 'em out.
How important are the Noblegarden achievements?
The achievement Noble Gardener (which rewards the title "(Name) the Noble") has been added to the meta-achievement What a Long, Strange Trip It's Been. In other words, you'll be needing Noblegarden for the Violet Proto-Drake, but the good news is that completion of this holiday's meta-achievement is relatively unaffected by luck. Even if you never get a noncombat pet, clothing, flowers, etc. out of the eggs, you can save the Noblegarden Chocolate drops and buy 'em at a vendor. Are there any other cool items available off the vendor?
Because Lesley's character is a druid, she was unable to see Tome of Polymorph: Rabbit, available from Noblegarden vendors for 100 chocolates. Only mages can see this! As a warning for low-level mages, any mage can purchase the Tome, but you can't learn it until level 60.
Which items do I need to get in order to get the achievements done?
For more detail on this, hit our special Noblegarden edition of the OverAchiever -- we'll walk you through how to get everything sorted. Long story short, though, you'll probably need one Noblegarden Egg, one Blossoming Branch, one Spring Flowers, one Spring Robe, the shirt and pants, and the noncombat pet. Again, if you don't find any of these as drops in eggs, plan on budgeting around 365 Chocolates.
If you have any other questions, drop 'em in the comments and I'll see what I can do to get them answered!

Thanks for this, I'm looking forward to that spring circlet.

Just did the quests over on the Oceanic side and I have to say it's pretty boring =(
I was hopping for more.
mitch Apr 25th 2009 8:14PM
I see what you did there.

I'm glad that the pet drop isn't down to the RNG after the nightmare that was the Valentine event (yes, I am bitter that I didn't get my Peddlefeet!) Hopefully, like you say, there won't be a lot of standing around waiting for respawns, although I imagine there will be some racing and competition over the new spawn point. I guess only time will tell. Happy choccies hunting everyone :)
mandyamandy Apr 25th 2009 9:27PM
Yeah i never got my peddlefeet or the dress... the past years on my old account i would get multiples!
Oh well. At least i have a reason to do the V-day stuff next year.
can't wait till tomorrow!
mitch Apr 26th 2009 5:45AM
The pet drop might not be RNG, but other stuff is.
I've opened over 100 eggs now and I've got NOTHING but chocolate. I've had to buy both the spring robes and spring flowers to complete those ones.
I still need to "discover" the dress and tux suit as well because buying/borrowing them doesn't count for anything. Good work on another RNG failure. I can see this ending up like the Candy bag from the Valentines event.
Blizzard make mistakes, fix them afterwards, but then make the same ones a few weeks later. It's the height of stupidity and unfortunately they are doing a good job of it.
Arktic Apr 26th 2009 7:07AM
@mitch
The two "discover" achievements are NOT required for the noblegarden mets-achievement. If you want to be a completionist you will need to open alot of eggs and go against a RNG, but if you just want the Noble title and the requirement for the drake, you can do it all through purchases.
mitch Apr 26th 2009 8:25PM
Yea I noticed after I posted that they are not required for the title. /slapself

Sweet. Can't wait.

Is there any reputation gain with Noblegarden quests? I'm trying to work on Orgrimmar and am struggling with the last 15,000 rep. Thanks for all the help!
Allison Robert Apr 25th 2009 8:46PM
As far as we're aware, no, there is no reputation of any kind awarded for the Noblegarden quests or achievements.
Angus Apr 25th 2009 8:56PM
Argent tournament.
Seriously easy to get them all at exalted with that.
Champion a city and you get 250 per quest. You also get 25% of that on all other factions. So you just bounce between all of them and you will get a ton of rep. That achievement is cake now.

Spent about 30 minutes doing the daily and collecting some eggs... it's really dull. It's 2am over here and the places are heaving, so it might get a bit better once the rush is over... but yeah, not a lot to it.
Was expecting something decent when they delayed it, but I suppose its something to do when I get bored of dueling folk at the Tournament.
mandyamandy Apr 25th 2009 9:31PM
much better than the past years. All you did was find eggs, gt crap candy and a dress or tux. Most people didn't even bother. Now they add more stuff and achievements so at least it's not a waste. Me and my boyfriend are making a race to see who gets all the achievements first to see if that makes it more exciting.
At least we don't get a silly debuff like heartbreak....
Eyric Apr 25th 2009 8:06PM
I just don't get it, how can a company create a game as nice as WoW yet make the events so extremely boring and badly thought out?
In theory this event sounds nice, in practice it's a bunch of people camping spawnpoints all day long... a waste of time in my eyes so logged off and going to forget about this piece of junk.
Gryph667 Apr 25th 2009 8:13PM
Meaning you're irritated there's not a huge evil moonkin hiding in a five man somewhere that drops purples, along the lines of the Headless Horseman, Ahune the Frostlord, or Direbrew.
They took a meaningless one day event and turned it into a full week long affair, offering rewards a great many people are interested in.
I suspect you were a "Naxx is too easy" whiner that's bitter about having your rear handed to you in Ulduar.
Amirite?
Solapse Apr 25th 2009 8:40PM
All the more eggs for us!
mitch Apr 25th 2009 8:45PM
No it's a pretty poorly thought out event. Christ they even postponed it and still they borked it.
It is as he says, a bunch of people, frustrating lowbies included, camping the spawn points. I gave up actually "hunting" for them after 5min and right now I'm here camping a little triangular spawn point while I type this.
Sure it will die down and the zones won't be getting zerged but it's still doesn't change how hopeless it is at the moment.

"Meaning you're irritated there's not a huge evil moonkin hiding in a five man somewhere"
Sure. It'd be something to do in addition to fighting others for the right to click an egg...several hundred times. Though heaven forbid it drop anything towards an achievement. Everyone would scream bloody murder--they really should be renamed Entitlements.
"They took a meaningless one day event and turned it into a full week long affair"
They turned a feeble one day event with cosmetic rewards into a feeble seven day event with more cosmetic rewards.
If you want the stuff, go for it. He wasn't complaining about the rewards but the mechanics. Click eggs. Done. Same as it ever was and still the weakest of all the holidays.
"I suspect you were a "Naxx is too easy" whiner that's bitter about having your rear handed to you in Ulduar."
He may be. I'm not: it's not whining because it was true (Blizzard says it was both intentionally easy and accidentally *too* easy on 25), and I'm not, Ulduar's going just fine thanks.
"Amirite?"
*shudder* Off to the home for broken internet children with you. All your old friends are here. Why, there's First! drooling on himself in the corner. There's a dedicated Zwinky.com console for your rabit ear hat needs and QQ's mom sent him a hilarious book of Chuck Norris jokes. He'll be doing a reading after dinner. Pudding only, I'm afraid. Can't trust the residents with hard food or sharp utensils. Not since L2P jammed a candycane into lolcatz' eye. We had to cancel the planned Christmas event.
Everyone, I'd like to introduce Amirite! He'll be bunking with Sup3rKillahz401.

turtlehead...
While I don't quite agree with your critique of the Noblegarden Event, your description of the Home for Broken Internet Children is spot-on!
Well done, sir!!!
