Breakfast Topic: How's Noblegarden going so far?
The title seems self-explanatory; are you enjoying Noblegarden? How many people are participating on your server? Do you already have the achievements done, or are they a work-in-progress?I have to admit I'm writing this expecting a lot of comments to come back noting that it's pretty hard to get this holiday done when spawn points on the eggs are camped 24/7. For my part, I vastly underestimated how much of a nuisance that was going to be on the live realms. That aside, Noblegarden does seem to be one of the more efficient holidays, particularly if you get lucky with item drops, and I think this is also the first time Blizzard's made it possible to get all the achievement items you need as purchases in the event that Lady Luck spends the week being an indifferent mistress. The ability to buy achievement items certainly settles what was by far the biggest complaint concerning Love Is In the Air. For that holiday, your ability to complete the meta-achievement was ultimately determined by the RNG, to the point where Blizzard hotfixed the drop rate on a key achievement item after the forums went kaboom.
This time around, you don't need to worry about that as long as you can get enough Noblegarden Chocolate. Time to knuckle down, plunk a frosty beverage at your side, and tell that jerk who's camping your spawn to go find his own friggin' eggs. Ahhhh, the holiday spirit!

LOL Best holiday so far. I was able to get the meta achievement in about 4 hours by camping a spot in Goldshire that had 4 spawn points. (top secret)
Anyway, I liked the fact that the included a vendor and allowed the eggs to contain items. I completely checked out of the Love is in the air event. Boring!
As for finding all the females. I parked myself by the sunreaver district in dalaran and got everyone within a half hour. Go Drenden! Troll females seem to be in the short supply on my server....
If canabalism be wrong...I don't wanna be right!

I'm assuming that this event is supposed to be fun but I cant believe how rude people have become. "This is my spot go away" or "You stole my egg, F%@k off". You're almost worse than hookers guarding their street corners. Learn to relax and have some fun.

Just finished it, for my first title. And it's a good title, too. Something i actually like.
Cyno01 Apr 27th 2009 8:45AM
Done already, got my second argent tourney title yesterday too. Took close to 400 eggs to get the achievement for the dress though... (yes i know it wasnt part of the meta)
Looking forward to the rabbit orgy in our raid tonight, should be even more hilarious than when weve got a bunch of skunks and cats out.

Hmm, well I went to Goldshire yesterday morning to check this new thing out. Picked up the quests for it, and went looking for eggs.....
Then I realized that all spawn points was camped. There was litteraly ppl standing for, I presume hours, looking at a wall, hoping for an egg to spawn. (I almost began to feel sorry for their pathetic lives...:) )
Anyway, I wasted 15-20 minutes running around Goldshire, without grabbing so much as one single egg. Over time I decided that it was a big waste of time, considering the amount of gold I could have earned instead on dailys. The quests was abandoned, and today I couldn't care less about noblegarden. :D

My sentiments exactly...
Without having done any research on this event prior. I simply read the quest and what the items do, ie: Noblegarden Basket...
then continued to click on eggs i would run into that did nothing then fade away, which is when i noticed the camping...
As someone said, the whole "hunt" for eggs, is broken by spawn camping. "I had better things to do" but kudos to those who enjoy(ed) Noblegarden.

Is earning virtual gold somehow better than earning virtual eggs? You're spending your time for pixels either way. If you don't want to bother with noblegarden, that's certainly fine and nothing wrong with that. However, you're still playing WoW. It doesnt matter if you're slamming through hard modes in Uldar, gathering gold, or RPing in goldshire. They're all playing a game, and equally efficient or wastes of time. Get over yourself.
Rygiel Apr 27th 2009 4:53PM
Ok, if you wanna go tottally litterally to work, off course we're all loosers in this game :D
/insert sarcasm filter
We're all paying Blizzard our hard earned money so we're able to move some pixels around.
But listen, if i decide to pay Blizzard every month, is it to hard to ask for something more exiting to do, than sit 4 hours a day, looking at a wall? Heck no, i want moving pixels! :D
More seriously, i can off course see how some achievement whores see this as the best thing ever, but i want a bit more quality for my bucks, thanks. So flame all you want, it's my opinion vs. yours. :)

My Draenei mage met a very umm... handsome draenei warrior in Azure Watch last night. He was wearing a very tight peach dress with a slit down the back and looked completely ridiculous so I /kissed him whilst wearing a tux and now we're married. He /patted me (I was a rabbit of course) and then jumped into a portal to Dalaran with some human mage. I was very disappointed and egg hunted the rest of the night with a sad face :((
Did buy Tome of polymorph rabbit though! Time to rabbit some belfs!

Took me about 4 hours after it went live on my server (EarthenRing:US) to get the final achievement. Got luck with most of the drops. Looted about 275 eggs, Bloodhoof village was pretty empty.
WoWie Zowie Apr 27th 2009 8:48AM
i spent sunday morning getting the achievement, then loling at everyone facing the walls around the inn in golddhire. itsfunny.
i did a poll; which mindless clicking was more boring, eggs or fishing. unanimously fishing came out to be more boring, so i guess bliz got it right =)

I wish I could edit my earlier post to include this, but I'd like to add one "thank you" to the designers of this event: thank you so very much for not making PvP a mandatory part of obtaining "the Noble" title.
I wish the rest could be said for the rest of the events. I am sincerely dreading stealing the fires from Horde capital cities this summer...honoring the Elders there was "fun" enough.

At 1AM on the first day, I went to Mulgore and collected the hundred edible chocolates, and the five for the new egg. Very little competition, no one seriously spawn camping, and I got the drops I wanted in the course of collecting my "eatin' chocolates". I was done in 2 hours or so, and don't have to worry about the event any more.
Which leaves me free to be annoyed at the upcoming Children's Week, and the stupid "Hard Knock Life" achievement that I'm not going to do because I'm against achievements that reward you for playing poorly, or make playing poorly the best way to get them done. WSG is bad enough normally, without everyone there just waiting to return a flag. And, because I'm not going to do it, that one achievement is going to keep me from eventually getting the mount.

I'm still farming eggs for Dressed for the Occasion and Sunday's Finest; I keep getting circlet and spring dresses. I've got the rest of the stuff for the meta, I just need to do some of it.
Not a terrible holiday, but not the most exciting either.
Wistin Apr 27th 2009 8:52AM
To balance out the extremely good luck it seems posters are having, after two hours, I ended up with only 45 eggs.
Healabit Apr 27th 2009 8:54AM
I don't mind the achievements, or the egg hunting, though at about 6pm yesterday (EU) things got very VERY crowded and I gave up egg collecting. The thing that disappointed me was the complete lack of any decorations anywhere in the world, besides the eggs themselves. You wouldnt even know it was a holiday if you didnt check you calendar. I thought Nobelgarden was a spring (easter-ish) celebration, so there should have been garlands of spring flowers decorating the cities, and clumps of daffodils popping up everywhere :) Or maybe I am too sentimental about spring :P
Matt Apr 27th 2009 8:53AM
I started at about 7:30am on Sunday (EU) and finished something like four or five hours later. Has to be one of the easiest events, seeing as only a couple of the achievements rely on random numbers. The rest is achieved by a bit of collecting and a bit of travelling (which is much easier for us mages, I admit!).
I did spend a lot of time in Dalaran at the end just looking for a female dwarf, but luckily someone was kind enough to have their female dwarf paladin run circuits around the town in the elegant dress.. and they did it for quite some time.
I don't know if I like the fact that it was easy or if I disapprove. I'm just happy that I'm one step closer to that drake.
I'm more concerned about Children's Week if I'm honest, as I'll be on holiday from Friday to Monday.

Huh, as I suspected, the problem is all the people who think they're smart because they camp spawn points. You know, I and many others in Kharanos got a few hundred eggs in less than 2 hours by running around. I even whispered a guy who was camping five eggs to see how many he had and I had doubled him!
Maybe it's the fact the egg spawns are instantaneous. Possibly could be that some eggs are VERY well hidden and campers may not see them (one under the boxes leaned up against the wall of the forge building took me AGES to find) Or maybe it's the fact that not one of the 50 or so people there were being douches over spawn points. I found it to be damn fun and finished all my achievements in 3 hours (Except Tauren Female, which apparently our server only has a token one)
Deadly. Off. Topic. Apr 27th 2009 11:01AM
Maybe it's the fact the egg spawns are instantaneous.
What server were you on? The eggs were NOT instantaneous - sometimes they'd pop like that, but usually they took more than 2 -5 minutes to pop back up.
Abbadon Apr 27th 2009 12:04PM
As the respawns are instantaneous but random, the whole camp vs run around debate depends on how many ppl are in the area farming eggs...
If there are a lot of ppl farming, then the chances increase greatly for campers to have the eggs they are watching for respawn.
If very few ppl are farming the eggs, then more eggs are being left unpicked for longer amounts of time. This slows down the respawns for the campers.
I gave both a try, and had my hits and misses with each.
Overall, it took me about 4 hours on each toon to get all the items together. I wound up having to buy the pants and spring flowers on one toon, and when I thought it couldn't get worse than that, I had to buy the pet and spring robe on the other (and traded an extra shirt for the pants on that one).
I just need to finish Spring Fling and Desert Rose on each now. Overall, I didn't care for the amount of time I wound up investing (cause it coulda been a hell of a lot less had I gotten some better drops from the eggs), but at the same time, I have to give Blizzard credit for removing the RNG from the meta and making it that anyone putting in a bit of time and effort can get it done.
