Lowered Expectations sits down with Ghostcrawler

There's some interesting tidbits that came out of his time with the Ghost:
- Sindragosa will be playing a part in Patch 3.3
- We shouldn't expect a hero class in every expansion
- Ghostcrawler was split down the middle on the Death Knight starting at level 55
- Blizzard is interested in buffing up the old world levels to make them more interesting. He listed off (the top of his head): Darkshore, Stonetalon Mountains, and The Barrens.
- Ghostcrawler is responsible for the many varieties of fish in the game. This makes sense.
- Expect an expansion every 18 to 24 months

Firsties.
I'm glad that Sindragosa is gonna appear in 3.3, I like the roar sound in the log-in screen. :o
Oh, and lunch with GC? Nowai?!..
.. was he eating crabs?
pwkalt1 Apr 28th 2009 1:13PM
Of course not!
That would be cannibalism!
Zasziden Apr 28th 2009 1:07PM
Well, I can agree that Stonetalon needs work, and the Barrens could use some sprucing... Azshara also could do with *something*...
And thanks for all the fish.

"And thanks for all the fish."

Agreed!
Unless your a completely satisfied end game player, with a slight case of Altism, Old World does need some sprucing up, and things to do for new and old players alike.
Anyone else tried (Loong ago) to run into "the Emerald Dream?". Oh wait, I see something! Never mind I am just running into an invisible wall...

"Expect an expansion every 18 to 24 months"
Hmm, so we'll probably stay in Northrend for more that one year...
Clevins Apr 28th 2009 2:29PM
Of course. We'll see the next expansion announced at Blizzcon in August and then shipped in the fall/winter of 2010. None of this is surprising.

I know i will be and many many(won't generalize with a figure) others. We read so much about the accomplishments of Raiding guilds sometimes people feel they have done it all. It all depends eh?
1. Been playing WoW since 04', had a bad case of making alts and experimenting with the Alliance on a PvP server. RL friends join WoW, and the majority think PvP and Alliance are "time wasting" and dull in that order. BC expansion drops now its explore and learn up to 70. I break again 3 months or so, only to return and see PvP realm guildies are no longer playing and guild is falling apart due to internal conflict. Oh well, now my mage is gankable whilst trying to finish up menial quests in Nagrand.
2. RL friend who doesn't live near and we don't commune much only by internet convinces me and others to leave Alliance and PvP and lets "do this before WotLk" comes out. I left out much info to keep this as short as i could but basically Re-rolled a horde toon on a new server, for a whole new learning curve(FPs, zones, quests), since i only played Alliance since the release.
3. Here i am at 80 going strong, still havent done Naxx, etc.
IMHO PuGs aren't like they used to be...I tend see more cocky, Less helpful players etc who EXPECT people to know everything prior to running instances. So i tend to end up working with friendly people you meet along the way or guildys. Plus my gear is not ready, need more heroics...
Phew! Srry for so much, just giving a description of how things "can" be.
Now If i would have played WoW religiously up until now? Who knows i might even go as far as to say i am bored of it, which i dread since i really enjoy the game. Its the reason i take breaks, to keep it fresh and current.

I think I know how Sindragosa is going to appear in 3.0. I suspect that he would likely appear as a boss in Icecrown Citadel.

what great insight...
Mindreaver Apr 28th 2009 1:17PM
I don't know about that. She might be a attunement type boss, in an Onyxia style raid.
I know she'd be guarding my front door.
Similar to the way saph has the key to malygos' front door.
Just as long as I don't have to mount vehicles to kill her, I'll be fine with whatever.
AyaJulia Apr 28th 2009 1:18PM
@Mindreaver:
I get what you're saying, but Blizzard has said they're done with attunements, which leaves very few possibilities for Sindragosa outside a boss encounter.
smiley Apr 28th 2009 1:24PM
either inside, or outside, could be like EoE or something, maybe no attunment but she could have a lair up in icecrown where she awaits the lich king's call?
Mindreaver Apr 28th 2009 2:42PM
Done with attunements...
Oh ok, deleting my malygos key now...
They'll never be done. It's a storytelling tool. If she isn't a boss encounter (ie Saph 2.0, which would be fucking lame), then a stand alone encounter makes sense. An raid-wide attunement makes sure that nobody skips that part of the story.
Personally, I'd like to see her attack dalaran, and have her and the mages face off.

@ mindreaver
Agreed! lol
Vehicle combat is a new addition to WoW but i hope the don't overuse it. IMHO vehicles/ mounts for the Sin = Overkill...
AyaJulia Apr 28th 2009 3:24PM
One person needing one key != Every single person needing one key.
Sarcastic exaggeration? Highly uncalled for. You know what I meant by attunement, and one person of many needing a key wasn't it. I'd elaborate, but if you're just going to be crass, you can go look up the blue posts yourself.
AyaJulia Apr 28th 2009 1:12PM
"he does have a doctorate in marine science."
Whoa, didn't see that one coming.
Candina@WH Apr 28th 2009 1:22PM
Anyone taking bets that he did something with CRABS as a Grad student/Ph.D project?
That would be too funny.
MechChef Apr 28th 2009 3:38PM
And a lot of good it's doing him too.

GC has talked about his University work many times in the past Aya, he's even posted in a thread on choosing a career. There's been lots of references to what he's done in University and WHY his online name is GC.
