Lowered Expectations sits down with Ghostcrawler

There's some interesting tidbits that came out of his time with the Ghost:
- Sindragosa will be playing a part in Patch 3.3
- We shouldn't expect a hero class in every expansion
- Ghostcrawler was split down the middle on the Death Knight starting at level 55
- Blizzard is interested in buffing up the old world levels to make them more interesting. He listed off (the top of his head): Darkshore, Stonetalon Mountains, and The Barrens.
- Ghostcrawler is responsible for the many varieties of fish in the game. This makes sense.
- Expect an expansion every 18 to 24 months

I don't follow or even hear about the threads where he talks about his life. I just read what he says about the state of the game. I suspect many (if not most) other players are like me.

I just want to know where the Ghostcrawler Strangelove picture came from. That's GC's face on Peter Sellers' body. And very well done, I might add. :)

Ghostcrawler as Dr Strangelove.....genius pure genius

More like Dr. Horrible.
"With my freeze ray i will stop!"
NPH is my hero.

For those of you that haven't seen Dr. Horrible, its an awsome web-musical with NPH, Nathan Fillion, and the oh so lovely Felicia Day from the Guild.
Go watch it. Its like 5 bucks on itunes.

Also free on hulu if you live in the US.

Great blog. I think it was important for GC to not release all the secrets up and coming. It definitely takes away from the game when there are too many spoilers.

"They're well written and quite informative."
You consider an article where the author wishes he could have punched some random girl who committed the grave sin of wanting to talk to Ghostcrawler about non-WoW stuff "well written"? Different strokes for different folks...
While the answers that GC gave were informative, the author's preoccupation with this girl really turned me off. (She was "interested in game design" but wanted to talk about Final Fantasy? THE HORROR!)

+1. "(I wish I could have punched her in the face.)" FTL.
FifthDream Apr 28th 2009 2:22PM
This.
Also: "((Oh, also… at the end of his presentation, he had a picture someone in the community did that had a crab pet — GC’s avatar — got hit by a toy train and went squish… hm.))"
I'm not sure i can quite piece this together, as i only speak English... Calling this "sentence" awkward is a bit of an understatement.

I agree. I can understand providing a link to the original material to give credit where credit is due, but those articles weren't even in the vicinity of well-written.
Radiophonic Apr 28th 2009 1:55PM
Interesting article, sort of. The author's lack of detail and poor writing style leaves much to be desired; I feel like I'm missing information.

One of those, "had to be there" sort of things I guess.

Oh man, I would love to see a revamp of old world areas ala Dustwallow Marsh. Especially in the 20-40 range, that's downright painful to slog through, particularly for Horde.
I would love to see something done with Azshara, personally, as I adore that zone. But I would imagine such a revamp would probably be part of a Maelstrom expansion. Maybe they could finally rework and finish that battleground there, or stick a five man in where that Timbermaw-guarded gate is. There's just so many cool, weird bread crumbs that go nowhere in that zone, it's a giant tease.

Furbolg instance FTW!
There are great possibilities for such an instance. What about a 3 tainted brother boss group of elemental, enhancement, and resto shaman furbolg that were corrupted that Timbermaw hold is keeping trapped.
Imagine an instance with 3 shaman brothers, a druidic furbolg boss that changes forms for phase fighting like Ingvaar in Utgarde Keep, a warrior type tank and spank or even a hunter encounter like the one in slave pens if they could make it interesting, and then maybe the demon that originally corrupted the Furbolg on Kalimdor (though I know those of us insane enough to have grinded exalted with Timbermaw have already killed one)?
Warrior, hunter, shaman, druid, and even a warlock (with the shaman’s being tainted by a demon)…sounds like some classes that could be good for the furbolg playable race in the future…

Well, it's kind of sooooo obvious about Sindragosa. Like Sapphiron 2.0. Well, they'll make it 10 times cooler. That was unasked for)

"of nerfing paladins… sorry guys. "
Finally the nurf bat is swinging on Blizzards favorite OP class.
Kia Apr 28th 2009 2:20PM
I am greatly amused that he says he wishes players wouldn't view Arena as a "requirement," but they go and do things like make that awesome Frost Wyrm mount arena only. What the hell, man?
Leejin Apr 28th 2009 2:33PM
OMG.. amazing photoshop work..
It looks so silly.. bwaghaahah..
Couple of good articles. It totally brings GC down off of his God like throne that the interwebs puts him on. He's just normal.. hakuna matata..

Wasn't it GC that mentioned that blizzard intended to release a new class every expansion when DK were annoucned and everyone was climaxing to the idea of rolling a DK? You just cant tease us and leave not do it. What are you some sorta sick chick? Burning Crusade would have been better with addition of a demon hunter class. Next expansion I would like to see Naga and goblins for horde and High Elves and . Then again blizz did give us guild banks 6 months before Wrath. Even though it was slated for BC release. I wonder if dance moves will be release 6 months before the next expansion.
