We were all taken by surprise this afternoon when we heard
the PTR has gone live for Patch 3.1.2, because we had little indication that it was going to have a public testing phase at all. It makes some sense looking at the content of the patch, because it seems they're trying to implement the Equipment Manager again, rather than waiting for the next full blown content patch. This patch also contains the new round of
Argent Tournament mounts
described a short while ago.
When full content patches hit the PTR, the developers generally do not allow premade characters to be created so it doesn't taint the data gathered from dungeon and raid testing. However, this PTR period doesn't have any content like that, so they
are allowing premades. If you've been wondering how X or Y class plays at 80, this is a good chance to play around a little bit.

ah this is awesome. im gonna preview a disc priest to see if I actually want to level one!
Ganesh Apr 30th 2009 3:50PM
Warning: disc priests seem to be getting some nerfs in the next patch according to the priest forums:
- Glyph of Penance to be changed to increase crit instead of decrease its cooldown
- PW:S mana returns will be nerfed by 50%
Grr....Disc priests are getting seriously shafted

Are you kidding? I play a Disc priest and I would LOVE the increased crit on Penance, more so than the two second reduction on the cooldown. A better chance to stack Divine Aegis on my tank is an acceptable trade off for having to wait a third longer to cast it again. Besides, I still have Flash Heal to use during those extra two seconds.
As for the reduced mana returns on PW:S, I just hope they're doing something for druid's regen. Even after the nerf the two druids in my guild are able to turn out 3k+ healing on a fight and still have to worry over much about mana. Kinda lame 3 healing Maexxna in a 25s PuG...

Already consumed half of my "premade" copies. Would love to have a difference between the new PTR's notes and what current live has to compare differences.

And OH! Look at the list of nerfs!
Matchu Apr 30th 2009 5:27PM
"Conflagrate updated: Consumes an Immolate or Shadowflame effect on the enemy target to instantly deal damage equal to 12 seconds of your Immolate, or 8 seconds of your Shadowflame.* "
More nerfs. Bye bye 40/31.
Matchu Apr 30th 2009 5:27PM
"When you use Conflagrate, the damage done by your next 3 Destruction spells is increased by 10% for 15 seconds if the Immolate on the target has 5 or fewer seconds remaining.* "
Actually, possibly not as bad as I first thought.

Uhh can someone help me as to why my 0.1.2 patch updater is going to 10%, opening the downloader and then stops doing anything?
The downloader sits at 0%, as far as I know I have all ports/firewalls open, tried disabling peer-to-peer with no success.

Is this patch going to fix me getting half my talent points back everytime I switch back to my primary spec? I thought it was getting fixed last patch, but nope.

It seems like the patch test realm folder i have gotten installed (by the installer from blizz's website) is simply original wow and wants to download EVERY patch, currently getting a 900 mb "0.1.2"????
Also, did you guys get my email about the WoW on iPhone video? I haven't seen any posts made on it...
