Welcome back to The Queue, WoW Insider's daily Q&A column where the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Adam Holisky will be your host today.
This post is called The Queue, and it's about a queue, and the questions, but question is not the name of the post, that's just the name of the post, and that's why I called the post The Queue.

Gamer am I asked...
"Why did Blizzard make the achievement School of Hard Knocks, which requires quite a bit of PvP skill and preparation, required for the meta for Children's Week? It seems as if they only want PvP'ers to be able to get a 310% mount."
I don't think it's Blizzard's intention to make the 310% mount available for PvP folks only. I think it's their intention to make it available to everyone who's reached the end-game. My personal guess is that School of Hard Knocks will eventually be removed from the meta achievement. Why? Because all the other achievements rely on cooperative play amongst the team, whereas School of Hard Knocks relies of adversarial play. "Hey guys, let's go and kill 100 horde with our orphans out!" is very different from "Hey 15-random people, let's go and get me this achievement while you can all suck it!" Fighting amongst the Alliance / Horde is fine, fighting amongst your group is not.
Talyre asked...
"Regarding the Argent Tournament, are there features of the tournament that will disappear or change in future patches, like the phases of Quel'Danas?"
Things will be added, however there hasn't been any indication that things will be removed. There will probably be some relocation of a few NPCs after the main tournament buildings are complete, but I would be very surprised if any quest is actually taken out.
FD asked...
"Are Sartharion and Malygos in the raid progression chart?"
Sarth and Maly should both be considered Naxx equals. Although Maly is a little harder than Naxx, and Sarth is a little easier (no drake).
4chan asked...
"Has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like?"
I did once. I was backstage in the greenroom with Arlo Guthrie and Peter Yarrow. Later that week I got to see the late great George Carlin as well. (This is a true story.)

One of the best songs ever... And extra points, I never thought I'd see it tied to WoW.

I'm sure school of hard knocks isn't part of the meta.
RyuHakubi Apr 30th 2009 2:42PM
Well, yeah, it is. If you mean it *won't* be, I must share that hope, but for now, there are gonna be a lot of rude PvP pukes out there...
...and I'm probably gonna be one of them. :-(
Gardoch Apr 30th 2009 2:42PM
Take a second look, it's in there. I've been dreading Children's Week solely because of this achievement. It realy does encourage behavior in the battlegrounds that is counter productive to the overall team goal, in favor of individual achievement.
Blizz says, "Yes, there is and I in 'teIam.' "
dpoyesac Apr 30th 2009 2:45PM
There is no "i" in "team", but there is a "me".
Otheos Apr 30th 2009 2:51PM
@ Gardoch,
Have you even played the game lately? I'll take somebody actively trying to return a flag or assault a tower any day over the legions of lemmings that wanding into the middle of whatever map they're on and basically just play the BG like its a deathmatch with no regard to objectives.
A few people trying to cap the flag for an acheivement is not going to hurt BG's. Honestly some of you idiots will complain about anything without even thinking.
Indra Apr 30th 2009 2:54PM
Except, yes, School of Hard Knocks is part of the meta achievement. I just looked. Boy, is pvp going to be a royal pain.
Saint Apr 30th 2009 2:54PM
Wow Ortheos, I was totally agreeing with you until you started personally attacking the man.
So, instead of being a dick here, go insult people on the official forums.
Nathan Apr 30th 2009 3:13PM
I agree with Saint. I was going along well with you until you starting bashing him for giving his opinion.
vazhkatsi Apr 30th 2009 3:14PM
those particular pvp acts aren't that difficult. most pugs in eye have half the team cap the flag at one point or another. capping a tower in AV isn't bad, especially in our AV, since theres never any alliance, so very little competition. returning a flag in WSG isn't really that hard, help kill a FC and then click, oh noes. and assaulting in AB-same deal. if you really suck at pvp you can ust sit next to someone else who is doing all the hard work and assault a flag when they've killed the defense.
if they wanted it hard they could have made it worse. like capping a flag in WSG, capping a flag in Eye with all 4 bases, assaulting BS or farm/stables in AB, killing drekthar/vanndar
Balius Apr 30th 2009 4:49PM
The problem is not that any one of those requirements is "hard" or "wrong", but that you cannot have an entire team trying to do one thing the whole time and accomplish the actual goal of the PVP. Try killing a boss in AV when everyone is scattering to the four winds to try to cap a different tower, or ever getting the three flag caps that will end a WSG when both teams want to return a flag and stay on defense the whole time to accomplish it.
At best, you have a situation where participants don't care about winning the game because they have a more important personal goal. At worst, you'll have players ACTIVELY HELPING the other side get partway toward the goal because that personal goal is more important. You can't return a flag, after all, if the enemy isn't allowed to get the flag first.

Otheos,
Maybe you didn't mean to (or maybe you did), but you come off as one of those PvPers screaming in the battlegrounds about what total morons everyone is and how if they can't figure out the simplest of strategies they need to "GTFO right now!!!", etc. , but people that don't PvP do NOT get the simplest of strategies, and they are NOT going to follow instructions nor are they likely to do anything they should because they're completely out of their element are there to get an achievement and be done. PvPers anywhere, even the nice ones, are going to have fits of apoplexy. :D
I'm still hoping they remove this from the meta, or better yet that even though they say "you" in the achievement, they don't mean it literally. Running in WSG with my shadow priest while the horde picks up and returns a flag? Ok, fine. Running in WSG with my shadow priest and having to to pick up and return a flag myself? Never ever gonna happen.
