Breakfast Topic: For the children!

While some players are polarized over the School of Hard Knocks Achievement, which requires players to venture into the Battlegrounds, I'm not looking forward to a token dungeon run to kill King Ymiron or doing five daily quests for five consecutive days. If you're unable to log in mid-week, you're toast. Ugh. That said, it's an extremely easy meta Achievement to obtain. Are you looking forward to the event? Are you rushing Noblegarden so can't be bothered to chaperone some kids all over Azeroth (like you do every year)? What's the first thing you've got planned for Children's Week?

I've completed Hard Knocks, but the problem is it's going to be 30 people gunning for the flag in EOTS. 40 people charging the towers in AV, 20 people parked in the flag rooms... It's chaos. I was lucky enough to get on before most people realized the event had started... only a handful in each BG had an orphan. Just the existence of this achievement makes every BG an exercise in frustration. It's almost more luck based than the candy bags during Love is in the Air because you have to hope the archers in the towers focus on someone else so you can cap it, hope that your lag is lower than the other people crowding around the flags in WSG and EOTS... "effort" barely comes into play.

What Vengal said. And PvP is not "work." For people like me, PvP is nothing but a frustrating, blood-boiling experience all the way through. Before telling people to QQ moar, learn to look at things from different angles.

A squishy lock who can dot and fear and has a pet. Hmm.
Anyone trying out the event RIGHT as it starts has an advantage over the rest of the people who went to bed or who were still doing the Noblegarden event. Why don't you come back and try getting all this done DURING peak times.
I'd like to see all the people who moan and QQ to those of us who don't want to pvp for our achievement actually try it when everyone is online attempting to do the achievements at the same time.
There are already mounts for pvp top whatever bracket, why does there need to be pvp achievements in what are mostly a pve events.

So because you don't enjoy it and would never consider doing it, that somehow entitles you to...have it?
Seriously, the generation of 'I'm entitled to everything!' gamers strikes again.
I dislike pvp and am a huge Protection specced Tauren and yet I was able to do the achievement in a couple of hours. Yes it is frustrating and personally I think it a badly designed achievement but don't think you are automatically entitled to it because you're not.
Some effort has to be put in sometimes, even if WOTLK has almost annhiliated that from the game. Good luck all in getting it ^^

@Exco
You really see nothing wrong with having the whole team trying to do the same achievement?
Bliz fails again. I'm not gonna spend 8 hours or more in BGs trying to do this crap.
Grats to you, your fear and your pet!! :D

Not looking forward to the Ratchet/BB quest the kid gives. I achieved the Bloodsail title and never got my rep back up with the goblins

I laughed when I went to AV. Horde and Alliance were waiting politely for the opponents to capture a tower, to be able to take it back. It was the most hilarius thing I saw in a BG. And it is funny when there comes the odd true PVPer and unleashes hell by attacking someone.

@ Vengal and Krotukk
i dont really like pvp that much either. guess what, i made an EFFORT and got it done in 2.5 hours.
i also dont like farming mats and/or paying inflated prices for food mats to make cupcakes and cakes. got that done too.
also dont like having to run UP for the umpteenth time when im one of the best geared ppl on my server. did that too.
stop crying and start trying.
sheesh.

omg! that is funny! i am a pvp'er don't care about the achievements that much, so when i am in a BG its to win! what striked me funny is actually watching the two teams actually work together to do this achievement, yet when theres a real BG match! your lucky if 3 people actually work together to win! so you true pvp'ers out there unleash hell all over this acheivement! and for the pvp haters, if you hate it so much why do it? and if your gonna do it shut your trap ! it took me 2hrs to get a bg finished last night cause of this achievement that i have'nt taken part in,and i'm not bitching!

Aye, this achievement is full of buggs but I must say the BG side of it made me laugh. Watching 15 players (horde) in AB all racing for the farm flag was hilarious, AV was even more fun with 40 players all racing to the nearest bunker. It kinda messes up the BG tactics for the hardened PVPer but was also refreshing fun.
I can understand the pain that non PVPers are going through, otherwise its fairly easy that just requires a little travelling

Where's the baby gorloc/frenzyheart cub they found in the files?
¬_¬
Balius May 1st 2009 10:24AM
Maybe, hopefully, they'll be adding something to the event for them? Or maybe they're for some other event (other datamined items indicate that the harvest festival's getting some upgrades).
TheKarmaPolice May 1st 2009 9:42AM
according to the photo, that human is gonna hit that child square in the face..
MechChef May 1st 2009 11:10AM
He's been a *very* bad boy....
Jason May 1st 2009 10:16AM
/sigh
Well I'm down one day on the Daily Chores achievement as the one I did after midnight didn't take, neither did the next three. I'm hoping that today after the server reset they will.
epsilon343 May 1st 2009 10:05AM
The PVP achievements should be removed from the Meta like the elegant dress and tuxedo were for Noblegarden.
Huulo May 1st 2009 10:23AM
I haven't seen anything so far about the baby gorloc/wolvar pets. Please don't let it be that Blizzard would make something this cool and then neglect to put it in the game.
Anyone know anything else about this?
Balius May 1st 2009 10:31AM
I'm not sure what makes you call them cool. I mean, we've never actually seen them. For all I know, it could be a static image drawn by a designer's nephew on a three sided polygonal pyramid sliding on the ground after you.
Chilleia May 1st 2009 10:52AM
Can you kill the kids?
That's the only thing i can think of that would make this holiday cool :D
Voice of Reason May 1st 2009 11:05AM
The QQ crowd is amazing That's exactly what you're doing.
blizz cannot possibly satisfy everyone with every event. I think it's BS that I have to do a bunch of Ulduar stuff to have an Iron Proto Drake. I'm a busy guy that plays in the morning. I dont have time to schedule raiding.
But Im not going to cry about it. I'm going to have fun with what's possible.
Give it a shot.
