Daily Chores achievement is no longer a chore
Many people have noticed a change in the Children's Week achievement Daily Chores. The achievement no longer requires you to do the same daily quest five days in a row with your orphan out, but instead requires you to do a total of any five daily quests with your orphan out.Let me rephrase for the hard of hearing:
You can just do five daily quests today with your orphan out and you'll get the achievement. You don't need to repeat the same quests for the rest of the week.
It should be noted that this is a hotfix applied this morning, and that the achievement text is you'll see via your achievements window is incorrect. This change is likely due to the gigantic failure that was/is A Simple Re-Quest.
So this is the first nerf bat to the Children's Week achievements. School of Hard Knocks coming up next?

I don't see them nerfing School of Hard Knocks.
Despite the long list of achievements nerfed for the Long Strange Trip meta, all but one have been nerfed for a single reason: people couldn't finish them within a single event. Be that because they are achievements that span multiple years or because they were bugged. The possibly exception is the candies, which Blizzard were very reluctant to nerf, it didn't happen until some weeks after the fact, and it was only a very very small change. A change they made after finding out that a lot of people hadn't got this achievement - less than they'd intended.
School of Hard Knocks will get easier. And plenty of people have and will get it. Every single AV at least 4 more people cap their towers. Lots of flags get returned every WSG, and so on. As the week goes on, less people will be competing for them and they'll get easier. Not everyone will get them, no, but that's not the point.
It's a stupid achievement, in that the AV and EotS ones encourage bad play on a large basis. The other two aren't so bad. But it's not impossible, it's not random, it's just hard. If you keep at it, you'll get it. And unlike with those Love Hearts, you can keep at it every minute of the day. And that's why they won't change it.

I'm glad they fixed this one--I liked the idea behind the original one (you know, not getting everything done in one day!)
Now, please please please fix the PVP one! Trying to get it and getting one-shot all day has been the first time this game has brought me to tears. :(
I don't mind hard things--but that's ridiculous. I've never ever capped a flag in any BG because I'm terrible at it. I'm a decent defender--not a capper. :(

I see nothing wrong with asking people to PVP for these achievements, as long as they're fair and in tune with the objectives of the BGs in a way that won't disrupt regular BG activity.
If you look at the entire year's worth of meta-achievement, Blizz is asking all of us to do a bit of everything that the game has to offer, which makes this (the drake one) a general achievement. In order to get the drake we've had to travel all over, farm, PVE and PVP. It's a bit of all, and there's nothing wrong with that. Removing School of Hard Knocks is not necessary, but it should be reworked into something that made better sense.

I don't like PvP so I was dreading the School of Hard Knocks achievement.
I must've got lucky, because it wasn't so bad after all. Trying for the achievements actually made it more fun for me. In our WSG we had a horde come in and pick up / drop the flag so everyone got their turn. There was a lot of emoting going on between the factions! After I got my achievement I went to their flag room, picked up the flag a couple times and got rolled. :P With bunny ears and the spring dress on.
And EOTS was a total centre-field scramble, but it made capping towers easier for us. I carried the flag for my bf and then let him take it the last five yards.
I can see how this must annoy the seriousface pvp experts. I'm kind of sorry for that, but I have to say this was the only time ever I've had fun in a WSG! And yeah, I totally afk'd out of the WSG but played through all the others. >.

I think "Hard Knocks" should just be "Get an HK in each of the BGs with your Orphan out." That way people just get into the BG and play the game... instead of having everyone in the middle of EotS tring to cap the flag.

My [Home Alone] still disappears when I log out.
Lots of bugs this week.

Now it seems to be saved.

The other BG requirements for the holiday achievements are along the lines of "Kill 'x' numbers of players while under the influence of such-and-such a buff."
"School of Hard Knocks" would be less aggravating if it were along the same lines. Winning a match in each of the four major BGs and getting 100 kills in any combination of them with your orphan out, for example.

I started playing Battlegrounds (And loving them) only last week. However I'm not going for the drake and I'm not even going to bother trying for this particular achivement. I'm just not interested in the frustration it will cause. I get enough stress each week tanking for my guild.
Give me a shout when Alterac Valley goes back to normal.
(On the plus side I've made over 4k gold selling chocolate cakes to people with too much money)

Don't really see the point in this nerf. Is it really that hard to do the same daily 5 times in a row. Now School of Hard Knocks that's an achievement that should get nerfed. At least take out the AV part or something.
