The Queue: Zordon, no!
Welcome back to The Queue, WoW Insider's daily Q&A column where the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.A lot of people were confused about the picture I used in The Queue a couple of days ago. You know, the one with the German writing on it. That edition of The Queue was titled Mercenaries, and the person depicted in that picture was Götz von Berlichingen, a German mercenary from the early 1500s. He literally had an Iron Fist. As in, his hand was crafted out of iron. Go read up on him, he rules.
idkanything asked...
"A question on guild leadership. Our guild leader has decided to stop playing WoW but he didn't transfer the guild to someone else before he left. (It's a long, not very exciting story.) We don't want to just disband and reform under a different name because of the gold in the gbank. Does anyone know the procedure for getting the guild transferred to another person? Is there a certain amount of time that has to pass?"
I don't know what the amount of time is, but a few guilds I've known over the years have gone through this. Their guild leader quit, and the rank and file of the guild didn't want to give up what they've built. They had to wait quite awhile, but eventually GMs turned the guild over to one of them. Again, I don't know what the time frame required for this is, or if there were possibly other circumstances involved.
My advice is to just file a GM ticket and ask, or possibly go to the forums if you're having a bout of bravery. A Blizzard employee will be able to answer that much better than I can. I can say that it's been done, but I don't know how or why or any of the important details at all, really.

"Any news on a Children's Week guide? I get lost when I don't have WI holding my hand through these holidays."
Kachow.
Jormungandr asked...
"What's the deal with all of the ogres being way tiny? Was there a sizing glitch in 3.1 (or is it just me)? The ogres I've noticed in Arathi and STV are all way smaller that they should be."
Ogres don't have a set size/scale. You don't notice it as much when you're leveling up, but if you go back to old content it's fairly jarring. As you level up, the developers throw bigger mobs at you. It gives the illusion of you fighting tougher things, and getting into more epic battles. They also do this as a visual aid in raids or on group quests, they scale up the size of a mob so you can see it in a crowd.
As far as I can tell, they didn't downsize the ogres in STV or Arathi (though I'm not denying the possibility, I might just not notice it). I think you're just used to seeing the massive ogres from Outland and they make the old world ogres look like puny wimps.
jbodar asked...
"Do you writers have some secret contest for the weirdest, most obscure article intros?"
Contest? Hardly. It's a collaborative effort. We're a team.
(Psst, Adam. I've got dibs on Tommy, the greatest power ranger in the world. You're Jason. Have fun in Switzerland, bud.)

So I'm doing the Argent Tournament dailies for rep. But when I became a champion I noticed the Stormwind valiant quests were no longer available.
I'm working on the others now, but what will happen when I make champion with all 5 cities? Will I be able to continue doing valiant quests for rep, or will I be limited to the writs from champion quests? Should I wait with the final quest until I have my rep sorted?

Taking one of the comments here : why are people considering we must roll greed on lqe loots?
I was in a heroic Violet Hold with my druid lately and said at the beginning that I needed an orb for some crafts (for my tanking spec).
One of the group member said that "no, you can't, you can only make a greed roll on the orbs" - also saying he was making so much money selling orbs...
When Cyanigosa died, he was waiting for my roll, I rolled greed because I try to have a "good behaviour", but that player won the greed roll - I was somewhat pissed of, knowing that orb would end at the AH.
And on another note, I'm also wondering were are the gorloc/wolvar pets, I was a bit "sad" not to have Children's week quests set in the Northrend, being a pet collector.

Because players you don't know don't care about what you want, or, at least, they have no obligation to pass up on their own goals so you can meet yours.
You wanted the orb, but he knew he could sell the orb, so it wasn't worthless to him. By asking the group to let you have the orb without a fight, what you're in turn asking is that the other players give up an amount of money so that YOU don't have to give up that same amount of money at the AH later. In return, you offered the group nothing to sweeten the deal.
If you want people to care about you, run with people you know.

Regarding the size question, there definitely seems to be something fishy going around sinze the big patch,
among other things for example the kodos downsizing at the kodo mount merchant. I cant think of any deliberate decision why they would have done that, it must be a weird bug.

im trying to get the mountain of mounts achievement and every time i look up a list of all the mounts and i always find all the netherdrakes with prices next to them. i did the quest chain and have a netherdrake but how or is it even possible to get the others?
RogueJedi86 May 2nd 2009 4:04AM
I think you can go back and buy them at Netherwing Ledge after getting one.

Best power ranger is Adam Park, the second black ranger and longest running power ranger(appearing in more seasons than even Tommy I think). Plus his actor is the only Power Ranger actor to have any measure of success since Power Rangers. Anime fans will recognize Johnny Yong Bosch as the voice of characters such as Vash the Stampede(Trigun), Ichigo Kurosaki(Bleach), Lelouch Lamperouge(Code Geass), Renton Thurston(Eureka seveN), and etc. Wiki him for more roles.

I joined a guild on a server I didn't frequent very often. One day I logged in and the guild leader was gone but hadn't passed leadership on to anyone else. I put in a GM ticket explaining the situation, it was forwarded to another GM and then I was given leadership. Simple as that.

Ok, wtf is you guys and power rangers, how can you even stand to watch it? It's soo cheesy, maybe there is some American episodes that we dont get in Europe? :S
But seriously, I could only handle watching it when I was 6 years old.

It's becuase Nostalgia makes crappy things from our childhood seem so good.

I suffer from a bit of obbessive compulsive i guess, because when I log into my server I like to have my characters descend from highest to lowest. Kind of feel the need to make them so, but I lack the time now to get my alts to a proper level. Long story short, is there any way to rearrange your character list to an order of your choosing?
Thanks!

How the hell am I supposed to do School of Hard Knocks? ( http://www.wowhead.com/?achievement=1786 )
Honestly... it's just so unfun and impossible. Grinding mobs or farming eggs is one thing-- there has to be an easier way other than just scrambling for these.

is there any particular reason why Blizzard and Wildstorm think we want to read about Varian every month in the Warcraft comics? when can I expect for the comics to become... you know... good?

So i dont think this question is necessarily a queue question but since i havnt seen a know your lore in weeks, here goes.
how did the ogres get to kalimdor before the orcs and humans? I mean theyre pretty comfortable in places like Dire Maul yet they arrived in azeroth as part of the horde from Outland. As far as i know, the first time the orcs and humans saw kalimdor was right before the third war when thrall left the eastern kingdoms. Did the ogres build ships and sail over before the rest of the horde? seems unlikely to me.
