You can have lots of fun with different races and enchanting too.Humans, Blood Elves, and Gnomes presumably follow the 'say clever words, sprinkle with fairy/arcane dust, clap hands" hermetic model. But I bet dwarves and orcs have more of a 'carve in runes" sort of model. And classes, too! Have your human priest ask for the Light's blessing upon a sword, or a troll priest sacrifice a snake to put its bite onto a dagger. ("It got some juju on it now, mon.") Have a shaman coax fire into it whisper by whisper.Enchantment has loads of possibilities.

I've only dabbled in RP when my server is down but the Tauren aspect would be very cool to explore. It'd be a great way to incorporate the "one with nature" ideal that they have with the unseen powers of enchanting.Stuff like imbuing a sword with the might of a fallen hero of your family, or as you suggest with asking the fire gods to enchant your weapon, even asking the earth spirits to protect you as a way to explain armor enchants. If I ever get around to actually dedicating myself to an RP character (very unlikely, unfortunately) this would be something that I'd like to try.
