May's Brew of the Month: Springtime Stout
It's a new month and the new brew is here! May's Brew of the Month is a very simple Springtime Stout with a familiar side effect. When you drink one of your drinks, you have a chance to proc the buff called 'Flower Child.' The buff only lasts ten seconds or so, and as you run around with the buff, flowers pop up underfoot. Herbalists, you've seen something like this before.I try to give little factoids on the real life brews some of these are named after (such as the fact that Pilsners shouldn't exist in Azeroth), but stouts aren't very exotic, overall! A stout is a very dark, very strong sort of ale, and seems just like the sort of thing Dwarves would be mailing out regularly. I don't know about that whole 'flower child' thing, though. Seems more like something Night Elves would do to their ale.

Bit behind here, no?

Well obviously, the dwarves just wanted something to drink in spring, and in the midst of the brewers was a night elf druid who snuck in some nourish and seed magic into the stout. Dwarves don't care what they are drinking long as it gets them hammered, so they probably drank so much they never noticed the flowers, or never remembered.
So I say, blame the restoration druids, they shouldn't have access to cat stealth, who knows what else they'll hippy-fy with their flowers and rainbows and trees.

I drank some wild Winter Pilsner while in the Scarlet Athenaeum. It totally blew my mind.

why shouldn't pilsners be possible in azeroth?
Alex Ziebart May 4th 2009 5:41PM
Because unlike most ales that are just named after descriptive words ('stout'), Pilsners are named after the location where they were first brewed. Pilsners began in the city of Pilsen. Pilsen is not an Azerothian city.
So it's just a nitpick. It's not actually a big deal. ;)

So if we call Pilsner's Darnassians you'd be fine? Because we know if the Night Elves brew, it's something like Miller High Life.
/likes him a good Doghead Fish 90 Minute IPA

A name is a name though. Maybe there's some dwarf called Pilsner. Or maybe that druid that snuck in earlier to do his michief is called Pilsner. ^^;;

This stout talk is making me thirsty. Maybe the [Flower Child] buff was an unintended side effect of some funky NE hops.
