Shadowburn BG down for emergency maintenance

The affected realms are Agamaggan, Azshara, Baelgun, Dark Iron, Detheroc, Emerald Dream, Greymane, Kalecgos, Lightninghoof, Maelstrom, Malfurion, Moonrunner, Nazjatar, Sargeras, Staghelm, Twisting Nether, Ursin, and Wildhammer.
What are you guys going to do in the mean time? I hear there's a good WoW blog around here somewhere that you might enjoy browsing through.
Update: The realms are back up.

Huh. The only reason I could think of as to why only a battlegroup would go down is because somebody unplugged/spilled coffee on/peed on the Shadowburn servers, in which case, why would it take two hours? Or are there other reasons why it would be battlegroup-specific?

In most cases, the battlegroups are a joint subset of the servers that reside together*. So any problem on that specific block of servers will trouble all that battlegroup. This explains why it is limited to one battlegroup.
It sounds like that was your second question, but I'm not certain. As for your theory, yeah, someone probably spilled their coffee :).
* - I say in most cases because while that used to be the case 100% of the time, I'm not sure if it is still 100% now.

I play on Azshara, and finally decided this morning to roll the priest I've been thinking about for a while. Couldn't even load into the game on it. I'm not the whiny type though, I'd rather they took the time they needed to get the server fixed, rather than waiting til tomorrow, and suffering this horrendous lag.

I had no problems on Azshara around 5:30am server time this morning... must have started going haywire after I headed off to work.

Yep. I was in queue for WSG and when it popped I wasnt able to get in. Then I got spammed I wasn't in a guild for about 15 minutes. Then Ironforge crashed. Fun stuff. I think i did it.

yeap .. this sucks ...... i tried playing my alt on other severs .. but its just not the same .. i miss my ED :-( ... the sucky part about this im going have to wake up tomorrow for down time too :-( I WANT MY WOW !!!!

It's about time. BGs have been buggy since Saturday. Some people were showing up outside of the start area in EotS, and able to capture towers before the battle even started.
In another situation, all the towers were flagged as alliance controlled when the battle started.
Horde players were showing up in the Alliance flag room of WG prior to the battle starting as well.

Moonrunner has been acting weird all weekend with some glitches in the battlegrounds and this morning lag was terrible. It took a minute or two to loot a corpse. Oh well, things should be better by the time I get home from work.

Dark Iron was having ridiculous spontaneous loot lag this morning. Sometimes everything would be fine, and then randomly it took me 5 minutes to sell something to a vendor. Chat was working just fine while this was going on.
