European extended weekly maintenance: 6th May 2009

Good morning, my fellow EU players. Welcome to Wednesday. Yes, despite the May Day bank holiday this week and that Tuesday feeling, I assured you it's once again the middle of the week and patch day to boot. As with the last couple of weeks, we've got an extended period of maintenance. Now I know things on the EU servers are a heck of a lot more stable than those of our friends across the pond, after all, they are our guinea pigs, but we're want them to stay that way right?
Once again, realms are down between 5:00am and 11:00am CEST. The downtime might change depending on how well or badly the maintenance goes so just bear that in mind come the top of the hour. However there's plenty to do during the down time, so check out Daniel's post from yesterday for some suggestions. Me? I'm going to read up on how to get the School of Hard Knocks achievement while I sit in the dentist's waiting room.

What is it with people whining about the "School of Hard Knocks" achievement?
I did a few random bg's over the past few day's and got the WSG one by just capping the flag (which is the goal of the game), which was very easy. (I must also say, it was past midnight, and I also got the "Iron-man" achievement and the cap in less then 75 seconds achievement at the same time. It probably also helped that it was 6H vs 5A).
Well, the AB achievement was piss easy as well, and the same goes for the AV one.
And the eye of the storm one? Piss easy as well, got it right at the start of the game. Nobody even attacked me.
I guess, doing it at level 60 and 61 helps a lot :) I know how painful lvl 80 PvP can be.
But even then, the achievement IS NOT HARD AT ALL!

Except that you don't have to cap the flag in WSG but return it. Capping the flag is near impossible for quite a few classes at lvl80, unless you have an extreme amount of luck or a premade.

Most, if not all the realms are back up now anyway. Not exactly 'extended' :)
