Whoa... About XT-002 Deconstructor... I just love that guy... he is very easy for me to DPS, but he is more fun then standing here and pressing my one button (http://umrtvovacz.blogspot.com/2009/05/one-button-5k-dps.html) because I also have to move, kill adds, and do all my best on his hearth. And his voice? who dont love THAT?

Good advice on the keyboard turning no-no's. "Hi my name is Remen and I'm a keyboard turner.I'm here because keyboard turning has begun to affect my life and the lives of those around me. It's time for a change"

Solution to key-turning:
unbind your left-turn and right-turn keys.
- it'll be rough, but it will certainly stop you from key turning. On my system, with a left-hand mouse and my fingers on the arrow keys, I rebound those keys to strafe.

Your kidding me? people still use thier keyboard to turn? I mwean the mouse is infinitely more versatile and easier to use, I can scan an entire 360 panorama (including the sky above me) in little more then 5 seconds, I can also do advanced strafing tacktics, that are impossible with your keyboard.
Mouse turning is the standard in wow, when you firat play that is what it's set to, why anyone would use mouse turning and say "WOW this sucks I'm going to use my keyboard!" boggles my mind.
The mouse is also a ton more sensitive, if I hold down my keys on my keyboard I can only pan the camera so fast, but my mouse seed is only limited by how fast my hand can move. any lonely mmo gamer should have plenty of practice moving their hands really fast! >.>

Wow, you really have some bitterness towards keyboards huh? Keyboard turning is also standard in WoW, it's just that it's better to opt for turning with the mouse so you have more control over it. If you're going to rant in an unreasonably riled up manner, you should at least get things straight.
But I guess your last sentence gives us a little insight into your little world and why perhaps you're so excitable.

Agreed
There is no need to keyboard turn, I personally think it cheapens the game... Panning in and out, surveying the lands, mouse turning/ strafing great for taking in the lands and large dungeon areas seamlessly.
Any child-adult that is willing and able, also having a brain that works healthy can abandon key turning. Its like having a TV remote control for years and still holding the remote up to your nose to see and enter your favorite channel numbers.
If you key turn, feel free to do so, no need to respond with a witty rebuttal or a special story of success in raids using said technique. Not everyone is a "gamer" to the extent of learning (commonplace-standard) tricks of the trade and that is all well and fine....
...Just not beside me....grouped up. (mua-hah-ha's)

As a PvE healer I have to say I grow very tired of the recurring articles about how using the keyboard to move is zomgsobad. WoW is NOT a FPS. I use Healbot and need my mouse to focus on my main job, which is to keep everyone alive. Movement is very much secondary, and things like moving out of a fire generally don't require more than a quick key tap anyway. I'm not saying there aren't situations where using your mouse to move is superior (especially in PvP and when you're playing a melee character), but it's not the be-all and end-all of being a good player.

Yeah, I unbound my turning keys on my keyboard a while back, and have been moving with my mouse eversince.
It really hasn't made a difference. I didn't really have trouble staying out of the fire before, and I don't now. It is a little easier to do certain tricks, but not really any more effective that I can tell.
Good idea sure, but I'm still quite capable of killing my raid even in new hardcorez no keyboard turning mode.

Well, for some classes, mouse turning can help quite a bit. For example, Hunters... if you're repositioning (say, after having been Slag Potted), rather than being at a full DPS stop, you can jump shot you're way back to position.

I won't go all holier than thou when it comes to Key Turning, but i must say its 2009.
No mouse look is not the "end all be all" but its damn sure close.

sigh.. the old mouse/keyboard turn debate. please dont assume everyone has a reasonably healthy left hand for doing the WASD or any variation of that.

I play a warrior tank and I do a bit of both. There are way too many buttons I need to use with just the keyboard so I'm frequently mouse clicking different things. When keyboard turning is too slow I switch, but most of the time it's fine.
