There will be two kinds of maintenance tomorrow.The first kind will be from 3:00 a.m. PDT until 11:00 a.m. PDT. This is the "normal" maintenance time. This will apply to all realms that are not on the list after the break.
The second kind of maintenance will be from 12:00 a.m. PDT until 12:00 p.m. PDT. The realms after the break will be undergoing this maintenance.
It is likely the Wintergrasp changes we just broke will go live tomorrow. There's a bit of uproar about them, and it'll be interesting to see exactly what the changes are. There is no indication if patch 3.1.2 will be dropping tomorrow or not.

It is so annoying when Blizzard posts on the forums these exact words, "We will be performing maintenance for all realms on Tuesday, May 12th. For the majority of realms the downtime will begin at 5:00AM PDT and end at approximately 11:00AM PDT. However, the following battlegroups will have extended maintenance lasting from 12:00AM PDT and ending at approximately 12:00PM PDT. " They then list the Battlegroups and Sargeras is not one of the servers... Then all of a sudden at 3:00AM PDT Sargeras goes offline, along with the rest of the realms. I don't care when the realms go down.. but come on Blizzard at least be accurate! I had plans!

and one more thing... I do not use the forums often.. usually once a week when servers go down lol. but are the forums always down during maintenance? its annoying to have the game and the forums down...

Probably "working as intended" so the Blizz forums don't get a rash of "OMFG! You guys suck!" before the forums go back up.

You can use the maintenance time to ... have a life!
Do ANY of you people have ANY idea what a technical miracle Blizz pulls off to do this? I thought not.
I run a 50 person IT shop (between that and WoW I have no other life) and I DO know how hard this is for them to do. You should be F***ing grateful that they do it, not whining your silly heads off about it.
Early in my career I wrote games - and I ran one of the early text-based MUDs - this is HARD to do guys.

I am just saying a company of Blizzards caliber, they should be accurate on their maintenance posts, and the actual down time of the servers..

I'm guessing our realm (Khaz Modan) is down for the extended period so that they can fix a bug that has been disbanding groups server wide every 5 minutes. Let's hope they figure it out so we can get back to raiding without being kicked out of the instance.

So...wowinsider is now officially confirming that extended maintainence is now "normal" maintainence? We will never see true "normal" times (5am -11am PST) again?

=/ nearly 3 hours after extended maintenance should have ended, and the Oceanic realms are still offline. zzzzz.

/sigh. Thanks Bliz, thats a shutdown in Australia from Tuesday 5pm-Wed 5am. So much for a day of playing time.
Cant you employee 2 people over night to run it in our quieter hours?
