Fields of Honor loot card artwork revealed

Well today the artwork for the new loot cards mysteriously appeared on the brand new Flickr account (which has since been deleted) of a user called wownudnik. We have no idea who this chap is but the artwork is amazing and certainly looks legit, even if Upper Deck have not officially confirmed anything. However the artwork has confirmed something we and Boubouille were guessing about; the Path of Cenarius card is indeed like Path of Illidan but with flowers. There's also an ogre pinata and, of course, El Pollo Grande, himself in what has to be one of the best pieces of TCG artwork yet. Although I was kind of hoping for a Tauren to be riding that chicken rather than a Night Elf.
Fields of Honor is due out on June 30th.

This may mark the only time that I will buy booster boxes of the TCG. I -must- have that chicken mount.

I -MUST- get that path of cenarious card. As a druid, it will be great to have that effect on! It would also be nice to have on my Warlock or deathknight. Oh, the irony.

@Kozom
I hate to burst your bubble, but Path of Cenarius isn't going to be a permanent thing for your character.
Like Path of Illidan (which left a trail of green fire as you ran) and Papa Hummel's Pet Biscuits, it only gives you like... 200 charges of the item per loot card. Those kinds of loot cards aren't as rare as the others, but unless you regularly buy booster packs (or the cards themselves off of eBay), you will run out eventually.

It seems that Varran will have to spend his paycheck on trading card games now QQ

I hope you can cast this on enemy players. Stealthed rogues spewing flowers is an obvious giveaway.

El pollo >>>> Spectral Tiger.
I might consider pushing my godson to play WoW TCG.
Arturis May 12th 2009 1:35PM
I would have preferred El Pollo Diablo.
"The devil chicken! THE DEVIL CHICKEN!"

These are awesome, ive always wanted to get into this card game because its had some pretty decent in game items.
Apart from the chicken mount, which even I know is going to be super rare...what are the chances of getting other sorts of ingame items from the tcg?
Kimyas May 12th 2009 12:48PM
It depends a bit on the loot card. But some items are fairly common. Just today I bought a random pack, my 3rd ever and I had papa Hummel's old fashioned pet biscuits in it. I heard the sandbox tiger is also easyto get and that's always fun in a short raid break :)

Most of the recent loot cards have had "charges" that eventually get used up leaving the player with nothing. These loot cards are much more common than past loot cards that gave the player a permanent item.
I'm sure Blizz and/or the company behind the TCG came up with this to give more players a sense of winning and to encourage sales of the card game. While a lot of the cards are nifty, I'm actually less interested knowing that I can only use the effect X times.
But permanent things, like El Pollo Grande... Now that has me drooling. However, I won't resort to buying packs or boxes (the RNG hates me - especially in RL), and I can't wait to see it going for hundreds on eBay. So alas, I honestly don't expect to ever have this awesome mount.

Thanks for the reply
There goes my Uni grant :P

Even buying entire booster boxes, how likely are you to ever see this card? I've probably blown $200 on Drums of War packs trying to nab a Bear (I know, with a bit of foresight, I could have gotten one on eBay for half that), and only have a stack of 20 or so Slashdance cards to show for it.
eenersumbrella May 12th 2009 1:09PM
My husband and I were lucky to get 2 within a week. Made our whole server go into a frenzy of buying booster packs.
Rugus May 12th 2009 12:56PM
Best way to obtain Rare loot cards is going on eBay and spend some (real) money. If you really get crazy for this kind of stuff... you will save a TON of money, compared to just buying cards until you find them.
I remember some years ago when in my country Magic the Gathering was crazy mania among teenagers AND university students. I still remember a guy who entered a shop the same day the new cards arrived and bough *ALL* of them, spending a little less than 900 EURO.
Madness.

Huh. I was able to look at the chicken and pinata cards, but then got "This use is no longer active on Flickr." I wonder if things just got overloaded from folks wanting to see it or if UDE or somebody had 'em shut down.
Garviel May 12th 2009 1:03PM
Same here.

Way to post the link on here... :) Looks like Upper Deck was quick to take it down (copyright infringement, anyone?)
Anyways, what other race would you expect to be riding on a giant chicken that a frickin' pansy Night Elf!
I'm not sure about you, but I don't ride anything that I eat. This includes cows, pigs, a large variety of fresh and salt water fish and crustaceans.
Ichigo May 12th 2009 1:26PM
Flickr account is now gone, FWIW.
Avan May 12th 2009 1:52PM
How come the pinata card doesn't feature Archavon?
Geddit? An obvious joke!
snowleopard233 May 12th 2009 1:56PM
If only I actually liked playing card games! That chicken looks awesome. I would love to go to a newb zone and ride up to new horde players while riding it, make sure they all got a good look, then proceed to slaughter them all while typing “cluck cluck cluck!”
They’d probably wonder in horror, “What kind of game is this?!?!!?!”
