Updated: European weekly maintenance: 13th May 2009
Greetings folks, it's once again Wednesday and you know what that means? Yes, it's maintenance day once again. Where did the week go? I must be getting older because time is flying by way too fast.Things finally seem to be settling down as we're back to the normal maintenance routine of downtime between 5am and 7am CEST. Of course, our poor American brethren were once again in guinea pig mode. They experienced a rather lengthy period of extended maintenance yesterday afternoon so, as usual, don't hold your breath.
As if anticipating the whiff of downtime, Daniel W. compiled a rather extensive list of things do to during the (hopefully short) downtime. See y'all when the servers come back up!
Update: All the servers seem to be back up a bit earlier than anticipated. However Blizzard have posted a note concerning 'technical difficulties' relating to the login/authentication servers and promise they're looking into it. Hopefully the problem will be fixed pretty quickly but if you find yourself unable to get into Azeroth, that's why. All you can do is keep calm and carry on, folks.

Seems the article took some time to get published?
As the hours on the screenshot are long gone and servers are up.
More important tho is the new small message on loginscreen, that mentioned something about the auth-servers having some problems and that they are working on it.
I did get to login fine tho.

Right, here's where I explain how these features appear. Last thing on Tuesday, I log in and check the breaking news section. I write a nice little piece and set it to post in the morning. It's a courtesy I like to extend to EU folk without WoW access who maybe at work, in the same way that the US folks get something on Tuesday mornings.
The thing about Blizzard is, it's always going to change and for once, our downtime has been painless (again Americans are our lab rats :)). It's correct when I write these posts, if it changes - unless it's major like servers collapsing I will just leave the post be.
Go get your dailies done before the rest of your server notices!

Maybe my question is out of place here, but is there a way to see different timezones here on the comments?
I always get confused with the difference btween the netherlands and the US.
It's 12:10 here btw :)

Well, it works. Of course it works now that my four-hour lunch break is over and I have to get back to university.
Life is hard.

Goddamn, account management is still down. Sort it out, Blizz. You get enough cash for it.
