I was GM of a guild called Vengeance on Wildhammer during BC. When it came to the dreaded day that I could no longer keep running the guild myself, I created small stacks of everything we had in the bank. Announced it to the guild a week ahead of the time that I would make it all available. I let people get 2-3 stacks of items. Let this go on for about a hour or so. The gold in the bank at the time around 2.7k. I just divided it up with the most active 25 raiders, 100g each and kept 200g for myself.
After this some people said I should have kept it all for myself, but I didn't earn it all myself. Just didn't seem right.
