WoW Moviewatch: Leeroy 5 - For the Horde

Occasionally, we're reminded that WoW Moviewatch isn't just machinima. It can be live action movies, also. Today's film proves exactly that, because there's no way I could pass it up. Herculean Productions has released their new episode, Leeroy 5 - For the Horde.
I love this Leeroy as much as I loved Leeroy 4. They're having fun, and totally rocking out with their enjoyment of the game. The little gags and spoofs are done with a deep affection for the subect, and that translates into a bouyant film experience. The special effects are just enough to convey the game events they're describing, and the team uses creative angles to make the "inside" of an instance believable.
As a significant note, however, the predictable "Leeroy Jenkins" jokes finally made their way into the series. Considering the cultural history of Jenkins to WoW players, I found the references satisfying.
So, click here to check out Leeroy 5. You'll either thank me, or flame me. Either way, I think you'll have some fun with this movie.

Dude seriously?!? Like Keyra said, YOU'VE BEEN FETURED ON THE SITE! Also about how you're say you're bitter for not being fetured on Moviewatch, sorry no, I don't buy that.
You're whining cause you'e not getting what you want, and you're missing the point of machinima. Machinima is not something we get paid for, but is something authors do in their free time because they enjoy doing it. As long as you enjoyed making your movie, that's all that matters. It shouldn't matter if you get the kudos from a certain website or not.
And as for you saying the selection of films stinks, Grey posts a new machinima M-F everyweek. That's just amazing in my book that WoW has that many fans out their that do that sort of work. I'm not saying I get everything that's posted here (not everything is everyone's taste) but I would never call any of it crap.
Authors make films of warcraft cause they enjoy the game. And when it all comes down to it, this is a game. Enjoy yourself.

Yeah! What Keyra said!
Your selfish wind-bag whining and shameless plugging is just pathetic. If you really think WoWInsider's movie selection stinks, start your own damn site.
For what I can see of your movie, Coldbear, you must have spent many hours packaging a video of your trophy boss kills. Too bad you are so egotistical in your write up of your grand and wondrous EVERYBOSSINTHEGAME video.
I don't think your combination of pretentious and cry-baby will go far in gaining you popularity.

ok for once, just once would it kill you guys to post links to all the previous installments of a series when you post a movie?
Wulfhere May 14th 2009 12:45PM
Yes, it would. It would totally kill them all dead to do that. Snakes would erupt from their eyes.
Fausts May 14th 2009 1:50PM
All previous installments are there when you go to the link, silly. They are just spotlighting what they feel is the very best of the series.
It's always like it that, on all news sites. Don't be so demanding. If you really want to change to ways of the world, start your own site.
Deadly. Off. Topic. May 14th 2009 3:37PM
Erm. There's links right there on the main page when you go there - did you look? It even lists them down the right side of the screen. O_o *boggles*
sayling May 14th 2009 12:11PM
made oi larf!
wonder where it's shot?
NB: AishaLove - there are links on the site where you watch the movie...
AishaLove May 14th 2009 1:12PM
Yes but that's not always the case, and often movies are shown as embedded videos.
Just seems strange, wowinsider is usually so thorough, providing links to as much info as possible on most articles, but for movie watch it just seems intuitive to have links to watch a series from the beginning

That was surprisingly clever. It was the first Leeroy installement I saw, and they did a pretty good job, for being liv-action. Much less cheesy than I expected!
Rich May 14th 2009 12:33PM
This is also the first I've seen of this series. It has just the right balance of action and cheesiness.
I liked the jumping through the portals. :)
Bossy May 14th 2009 12:38PM
The roles were better than earlier movies.
Very nice.
The pulling was great :))))
Fausts May 14th 2009 2:58PM
I agree. I liked Abbas a lot better over Jamie Hunt. Too bad they switched actors. lol. Actually there was a lot of actor switching (non-union, non-paid often means not going to take off from work).
Despite that, the whole series was surprisingly funny. The Wailing Caverns scene actually reminded me of my very first few times there after I had bought the game.

And what's your big movie Link it please.

I, for one, am shocked - SHOCKED! - that no one is taking you seriously, when you're posting with such a mature and relevant icon.
More to the point, have you noticed that the longest movies covered by this column rarely run over 5 minutes? They also need to be hosted somewhere that supports streaming video, not downloads. I would suggest knowing your audience (which includes review sites like this) before crying about the lack of lurve. You might have the next WoW-Godfather sitting on your hard drive, but if it's three hours long and you have to feed the gerbils running your modem to watch it, I suspect WoW-I won't be featuring you any time soon.
If you don't like what's being posted, suggest something better, that fits in the column's modus operandi.
Agony May 14th 2009 1:33PM
You're STILL crying about that? Good grief...grow up.
Wah! They didn't pick MY movie! Wah!

This is the probably the best live-action warcraft movie so far, imo. Kind of funny how they made this film in less time than Blizzard has been sitting around thinking about doing the same thing :)
Keyra May 14th 2009 1:43PM
Gee, that's funny, I thought you WERE featured...just not on MovieWatch.
Oh, look at that...here's the link!

And the write-up!
"You probably won't want to watch view all of this in one sitting, but if you have an hour and a half to spare you might want to check out this video of every single current boss WoW has to offer."
Translation: you lose, so quit whining.
Fausts May 14th 2009 1:43PM
lol. omg. That whole Herculean Productions - Leeroy is so surprisingly funny. I laughed out loud a few times.
The sets are cheesy and more then a few obvious production errors, but so amazingly creative.
