The high cost of rez sickness
Lotonero got his thread locked because he posted it in the wrong forum, but he makes an interesting point: rez sickness costs are higher than ever. Death costs are already pretty high -- when you're dressed in greens and blues it's not much of a problem, but get yourself down to red on some high-level epics, and see if you don't wince when you hit up the repair vendor to pay the piper. But rez sickness costs are even worse -- they affect durability on all of your items, even those you're not wearing, and so when a dual-specced healer or tank with two or even three sets of gear goes rez-sick, the amount they have to pay goes through the roof. Now, you might think what I thought: if you're carrying around that much epic gear, then a) why are you dying, and b) why are you rezzing from a spirit healer? But Wryxian, right before sending Lotonero packing to the suggestions thread, throws in his own two cents: "Maybe not." Maybe Blizzard might consider it -- dual specs wasn't around when they originally thought up the cost of rez sickness, and maybe since many players are carrying around two sets of gear now, it's due for another look. I didn't think the Hearthstone cooldown needed a nerf either, but we got that anyway.
So maybe it's something for Blizzard to think about. My guess is that most players will not think it's worth the change -- gold is flowing so freely nowadays and the death penalty is so cheap (back in the EQ days, we used to lose XP or even levels) that it's not a big deal, especially when you choose to go rez sick. But it's true that this is one of the game's oldest mechanics, so maybe it's time to take a critical look.

People are complaining about rez sickness now? Jeez, when will people just stop QQing and be happy with stuff.
After hearing the horror stories told by the players of the older and less forgiving MMORPGs I've concluded that WoW is easy enough as it is, if you need an easier game there's always Hello Kitty's Island Adventure.

'and maybe since many players are carrying around two sets of gear now, it's due for another look.'
As a druid i say no, you can all feel the pain like we always have done, so cry me a panda cos i aint feeling sorry for you >.

So wait, you enjoy paying two or three times more than other people do? Does it make you feel special?
Not so much smarter than the average bear, are ya?
Also, pretty rich hearing a druid claim they have it hard. Try being a prot warrior, who actually had to respec to do any farming in TBC.
My warrior has spent 2400g on respecs since they started keeping count in 3.0.
Spirit rezing should give 25% durability to equipped gear, and the 10 minute debuff. The current situation penalizes people who fulfill multiple roles. Our DPS is already forcibly below pures, can the hybrid tax not be a monetary one at least? Keeping two full sets of gear gemmed and enchanted isn't cheap to begin with.

I had to spirit rez recently because I went AFK while auto flying and came back to my computer very far north of The Storm Peaks with only a sliver left on my fatigue bar. I immediately turned around to head back, but it wasn't long before I was dying.
I tried bubbling, but the long fall and slow swim didn't get me much farther in those 12 seconds. Lay on hands bought me a few extra ticks, but my body was still VERY far off from shallow water.
Rezzing at my body was indeed a possibility, but would have caused at least 1 or 2 more deaths. Can't they just put a wall there? Lol
Anyway, with 3.5 sets of gear on me, that was a VERY costly repair for making a stupid mistake. Needless to say, I won't leave myself flying in one direction again.

This tale is why i miss Outland. I've flown AFK off Northrend at least 20 times now, whereas Outland would just have the invisible wall thing.

Personally I think death should have consequences. WoW already has one of the most forgiving death systems of any game, ever. Dying should be undesirable at all times, not a strategic choice.
Most of the the whiners have never played an online RPG with permadeath, I'll bet.

Flying over wintergrasp is my #1 reason for spirit rezzing, sometimes corpse land where u can't reach it, obviously this is if you fell outside of Wg on the cliff's sides.
For me I don't mind the 10 mins, but the gold penalty is steep for 2 sets of epics. I carry pvp / PvE and still carry frost resist gear.
Unequipped BoE's get the 25% penalty as well?

Im not sure if the damage to gear in your bag is still in effect. The last time i rezed at a graveyard it was while raiding a major city and I didn't feel like running all the way back just to hearth.
I went to repair my gear and the stuff in my bag didn't take damage.

Affecting unworn gear blows, but I can't say I see dual spec as the issue. Hybrid classes have had this issue for a long time. Ferel druids usually had both a bear and kitty set, many had a heal set on top of it.
