BlizzCon ticket status

1:28 p.m. EDT: Sold out until May 30th. I'd really love to know how many tickets they released. We had people on staff in position 5000 in the queue not get a ticket.
Older updates after the break.
BlizzCon 2009 is coming up on August 21st and 22nd! We've got all the latest news and information. At BlizzCon you can play the latest games, meet your guildmates, and ask the developers your questions. Plus, there's some great looking costumes.1:18 p.m. EDT: Queue is now over 21,000. 43% of the tickets are left for today.
1:12 p.m. EDT: Half the tickets are gone for today. Good luck to the ~20,000 of you in the queue!
1:10 p.m. EDT: Queue is now over 17,000. People are getting tickets, however.
1:09 p.m. EDT: It appears that the ticket queue is based on cookies, so if you leave it and rejoin you'll end up back in your original position. Do not try this though unless you're insane.
1:02 p.m. EDT: Queue is now over 12,000.
1:00 p.m. EDT: Tickets are on sale. Matticus is in position 840 after placing an order seconds after the order site allowed him to.
12:47 p.m. EDT: DirecTV and Web Streaming are not purchasable at this time. Nethaera posted as much in the forums a bit ago.
12:42 p.m. EDT: BlizzCon Store ticket page is located at http://www.blizzard.com/store/blizzcon09-tickets.xml
12:30 p.m. EDT: Half hour until BlizzCon tickets go on sale. Blizzard has taken down the armory to lighten server load, so it appears they're being proactive about things. This is good!
We'll post any news we get on the ticket selling here, including communication from blues via the forums or through other mediums. You can always find this post via the big banner at the top of WoW Insider that says "Click here for the latest ticket status."

I was #472 in queue because I goofed up and had to go back and correct the number of tickets to purchase.
Maybe I should have bought the full 5 to have extras in case some of my friends didn't get theirs.....doh.

Aye, working nightshifts and living in the UK looks to be making getting hold of a ticket exceedingly difficult for me, but try nonetheless I will. *Keeps fingers crossed*
Benny May 15th 2009 1:29PM

9018 in the queue within seconds of tickets going live :( was still 5000 left by the time it fell out of stock. Im gutted tbh, makes me question the worth of trying on the 30th if i cant get tickets within seconds of the first date

As a side note, the Blizzard store seems to be down at the moment (has been for several hours). So we will all probably have to wait if any Blizzard Store account info needs updating.
Charlie May 16th 2009 7:01AM
Technically, doesn't matter.
Ticket sales will be on a separate website from the store website.
They might have taken down the main blizzcon store in order to save server space for the ticket sales one? or in prep for it?
I see it as a prep move, not a server crash thing.
jsin1276 May 16th 2009 5:53AM
I will be on top of this.
Gryph667 May 16th 2009 3:59AM
I see the Failoc is locked and loaded, epic. ;D

I'm debating whether to go to bed. Only 6 hours till ticket sales, and I have a nasty hangover.
If i don't I have around 7-8 hours between (hopefully) getting my ticket and when i need to get up to go out.
Damn being a nerd and having a real life. >.

Also i will be Publishing Pictures if they are allowed of this event on my website in August www.warcrafthaven.com
Charlie May 16th 2009 9:16AM
Dude you're lucky, that knocks out like 80% of the cost of going to blizzcon (plane and hotel).
I guess i'm lucky too, my aunt lives in santa monica, about a 45 minute drive as well. =D
NeSuKuN May 16th 2009 10:17AM
Will DirectTV product be able at the same time? their web shows currently a "we have no deals with blizz at the moment" banner.
