Breakfast Topic: Will you be chasing BlizzCon tickets?

We know it's a lot, because BlizzCon's popularity speaks for itself. I think that any of you that were around for last year's ticket sales know that very well. This year, though, there are more offerings that will let you see BlizzCon without actually attending BlizzCon. DIRECTV customers can see the whole thing on PPV for just shy of $40, and non-DIRECTV customers can stream it online for the same price. That's quite a bit cheaper than making a trip to California. That's not even taking all of the fansites into consideration, either. I've had a few people say to me, "Why go to BlizzCon when I can just read the liveblogs on X and Y site?"
Where do you stand on this whole thing? Are you going to try to get tickets, or are you going to avoid getting wrapped up in the mess this year? I, for one, will be in the queue today.

Any aussies know when/if main event will host it again on foxtel? I would kinda hope so, since that murlock with minigun is sooo epic!

Assuming that it would be in October again, I foolishly decided to plan my wedding for August 21, assuming we could go as a honeymoon... Little did I know. I don't think my family would appreciate it if we absconded immediately after the ceremony. Besides, we'd still miss all the first day stuff anyway. I don't know if I'll get the stream yet.

Blizzcon for your honeymoon?

I went two years ago and LOVED it. Sadly, even though I technically could afford to go this year, I'm quitting my job and starting law school this fall, and am probably going to need that cash buffer. Sad. :(
I'll probably get the online stream though. Watching the panels and stuff would be awesome, plus I want me that Murky!

Why would I want to give Blizz more of my money to be advertised to?
I dont understand "cons" like this. Im a gamer, yes, but this con focuses on one company, not like a true convention, which would at least have multiple companies to see. Microsoft is a huge company, but I dont see Win-con. Walmart con? (laugh)
The only benefit I see in going is bragging rights. Anything else I need to know, I can find out on the internet.
Thats just my opinion, I could be wrong.

I think it's a case of wanting to get a chance to see the new stuff first hand, a free pet, maybe even the chance of getting a question answered.
I tend to be an introvert and avoid this sort of thing, but for those who want to do it and aren't neglecting their lives to do it, I hope they have fun

Considering that you get the pet for the $40 fee to watch on the web I'm just going to watch the stream and still enjoy my vanity pet.

I seriously wish I could afford it :(. The tickets might not be a problem (costs), but getting from Ireland to America is freakin pain + extremely expensive. ;(
Eversor May 17th 2009 5:30AM
Since I has no money to travel all over the world, I will just listen to wcradio.com live stream from it.
Elarwen May 19th 2009 3:57AM
Unfortunately, living in South Africa, I can't afford to go :(

It all the way across the country for me....way too expensive. I'm voting for Blizzcon to be held on the East Coast for a change.
