...is now recruiting
I've been reading the comments from some of our recent posts and realized that there is quite a bit of mismatch between players and guilds. There are casual players in hardcore guilds that find themselves being passed over in content. There are hardcore players in casual guilds that don't get to move on to things they want. Some players need a higher level of maturity. There are usually a handful of guilds recruiting in the Guildwatch column, but I think, for today, we can do better. If your guild looking for more take a moment to comment with the nitty gritty. If you're interested in putting up a little advertisement take a moment to copy/paste and complete the following form:

*Please list server times and your server's timezone.

I always considered trying to start up a guild, I'd call it the "helping hands guild" our members would do normal things, quests and such solo play ext... but we would all monitor general chat and if someone needed help on a quest, if possible for one of us to go help, we would.
My dream would be to have branches of this guild on many different servers, and we well known as the guild you can count on to help out. Hopefully making the game better for everyone.

I wanted the same thing but just on one server. And I still plan on making it happen to.
Because I'm also a role-player on a role-playing realm, I'd also try to sort out some weekly events like other guilds do to promote role-playing. Whilst being IC in guild chat wouldn't be a requirement.

Eh, why not.
~Guild name: Dawn of Reprisal
~Faction: Horde
~Server: Ravenholdt-US (EST Timezone)
~Website: www.DawnofReprisal.com
~Raid/active time*: 8:30 EST Mon-Fri
~Accomplishments: Up to Hodir in Ulduar, in a fairly relaxed environment. Guild's first bday on the 20th.
~Goals: Progress at a decent pace without too much pressure.
~Who we are: Were a fairly laid back group of raiders, mostly 18+ with a few exceptions. Outside of raids, were almost always on vent socializing and just enjoying the game after a long day. In raids, we are progression minded and strive to get things done. We do not consider ourselves a hardcore guild, as we always put real life first and that is an important tenant of our guild. However, we are a raiding guild and if you don't want to raid, don't bother. We are well established on our server.
~What we're looking for: Miscellaneous dps, priest healers. We are really looking for a dk tank as well. We need someone with tanking experience, who is already moderately geared and active. We are alot pickier about tanks than anything else.
~Contact: Via our website, or talk to Seasons, Aunna, Zweibel, or Lonekiller on the Ravenholdt-US server.
Korey May 16th 2009 3:25PM
*Edit - We are a 25 man guild. We do not schedule 10 mans, however, sometimes folks will throw them together anyways. A full group of our guilds members have gotten to Yogg in 10 man, but again, we don't schedule 10 mans or put any focus on them.
Rathiel May 16th 2009 3:17PM
Rathiel,
80 Blood Elf Death Knight
Quel'dorei-PvE, U.S.
I've been in desperate search of a decent guild that isn't too hardcore about raiding, but isn't too casual either.
I've had raiding experience up to Naxx-10, I listen tot he direction given by our raid leaders and do the best job I can. I try hard to learn the ins and outs of my class and am always open to constructive advice.
I'd love to get back into raiding and dungeon running, but as a melee DPS, it's hard to find a spot. I'd also love to get into a guild that is open and friendly as well.
I'm HOPING, I don't have to pay transfer off of QD, but it's starting to look that way more and more every day. :(
Crylexan May 16th 2009 4:41PM
Rathiel, you sound like the type of person we're looking for.
Guild name: BeyondTheShadows
Faction: Horde
Server: Bloodhoof (US)
Website: http://bts.guildlaunch.com/
Raid/active time*: Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 7PM to ? Est.
Accomplishments: All 10 man content through FL in Ulduar
Goals: To build a solid group of raiders that know each other well, and enjoy playing with one another. As far as raid progress goes, we're happy if we beat the current content before more is released.
Who we are: We're a newer guild that started raiding at the end of BC. We started with just a few family and friends, some of who had never raided before. Along the way we've picked up several very talented players, and have become relatively close during the time we spent learning to raid and progress through content. Our members are all friendly adults with real life responsibilities.
What we're looking for: We're looking for a handful of talented players to fill out our raids. We don't want so many people that people are being left out, but due to real life responsibilities we often have to search looking for group to fill out a few spots in our raids. We have enough talented players with dual specs that any class can find a spot in our raids. We enjoy running Naxx to help get people geared, even though there's not much loot in there for most of us. Our focus is on the fun... the loot is just a vehicle to get us there.
Contact: Contact any member of BeyondTheShadows in-game for directions to a recruiting officer (after 7 is the best time) or visit our web-site at http://bts.guildlaunch.com/. (Visit anyways... we try to make it interesting)

Guild name: Beartron
Faction: Alliance
Server: Eonar
Website: beartron.wowstead.com
Raid/active time*: Weekend raiding at it's finest.
Accomplishments: Naxx10/25, OS10/25(No drakes yet), EoE10, VoA10/25 on farm. Ulduar 10: 5/14, Ulduar 25: 3/14
Goals: Progression, without raiding 24/7, and have a blast doing it.
Who we are: Beartron was formed as an alternative to the other guilds on the server which seemed to be either super-hardcore, raid til your eyes bleed, or the opposite, the ultra-casual, no structure, raid when we have people on, type of deal. Beartron boldly attempts to forge the middle ground, maintaining a weekend raiding schedule, but keeping things light-hearted enough to remember that this is still just a game.
What we're looking for: Like-minded individuals that know how to have a good time, while excelling in their individual classes. Gear is not a must, but a good personality and knowledge of your character is!
Contact: Deitis, Myrfos, Malbogia or Sylvh on Eonar.

Guild name: Assertive Discipline
Faction: Horde
Server: Terenas-US
Website: http://www.assertive-discipline.com
Raid/active time*: "We raid 25 man content (Ulduar) Tues/Wed/Fri 7-10:30 (server time is US Mountain Time), with off nights being dedicated to 10 mans, or perhaps a 25 man Naxx. Ideally we are looking for raiders with schedules that generally match our guild's 25 man schedule, since we want to keep a small, cohesive raid team for Ulduar. "
Accomplishments: We've cleared up through Auriaya in Ulduar-25 and are currently working on the four Keepers. Cleared up to Sarth +2 in T7 content.
Goals: Our goal is to have fun and raid, but to raid well.
Who we are: We are a mature and fairly hardcore raiding guild. Once we get going, we don't stop. "Suffice to say that our 25 man raids always fill promptly, the guild is run by a dedicated officer corps who have gamed together for 3+ years, the guild itself is nearly 2 years old, and the trains run on time."
What we're looking for: High priority - Resto shaman, Shadow priest, Warlock, Holy paladin. Medium priority - Balance and resto druid, Enhance/Elemental shaman. Must be willing to come prepared to all raids (flasks, food, reagents). And must be willing to handle a friendly, but mature (sometimes mature in that "mature audiences only" sense) environment. "While casters, a resto shaman, and ranged DPS are at the top of our recruitment list, we're always interested in seeing apps from exceptionally qualified people, even of classes we're not actively seeking. As always, all recruitment inquiries are confidential. "
Contact: Loviatar, Mordant, Arcarania, Deadnskinny, Kirasanto
Copied and pasted some bits from our GM's recruitment thread.

I play WoW for 4 years and I've been in several guilds (including one created by me) but only a few months ago I found a guild that I can call "home".
I'm not sure about the rest of WoW players but it was very hard for me to find a guild that could fulfill all my expectations: raid schedule, maturity and friendship.
The questions in this article are very good to find good members and also to be found by good guilds. They are simple and go straight to the point. I hate recruitment forms with stupid questions that don't add anything to game. Examples:
1. What do you do for living? ("I'm a cook but ironically I didn't level this profession in WoW")
2. Are you an easy going person? (I doubt someone will answer: "I'm an angry and petty human been")
3. Do you have relatives that play WoW too? ("yep, and I'm sure my daddy's DK can be beat your daddy's Rogue")
True story. I saw all these questions at least once :-/
