Breakfast Topic: Did you get your BlizzCon tickets?
In a stunning twist, we actually didn't experience any catastrophic failures in regard to the BlizzCon ticket purchases yesterday morning. Any of you who were around for last year's fiasco know why it's so surprising! In fact, the only real issue we can think of is that there just weren't enough tickets for all of us to buy this go-'round. Not even Matt "Matthew" ""Matticus"" "Low", the Smartest Blogger, was bright enough to purchase extra tickets. Thankfully, half of eBay was, so we can still (defeated though we are) purchase them for a million dollars. Or we can wait two weeks.
So, what about you guys? Do you like the new ticket queue system? Did you get your BlizzCon tickets? If not, are you determinedly planning on trying again on the 30th, sulking about and eating pints of cookie dough ice cream until then, or swearing off WoW completely and running away to live in a convent? We should know! You should tell us!

They do have a lot of tickets. Between the 16th and the 30th, they are selling ~20,000 tickets.
Also, as previously mentioned in these comments, the number of eBay auctions related to Blizzcon tickets are about 75 to 100. That's 75 to 100 tickets... out of about 10,000. That's about 1%, which is hardly a damaging percentage.

Finaly found a reason to live in US over AUS, since there is no chance of me geting there form Australia.
Maybe next year I got a few G's to spend on going to blizzcon!

Bah. Our Friday night raid got held up for half an hour as WoW decided to boot and prevent four of our raiders from logging on due to the Battle.net changeover. Completely random, too: one minute, we were clearing trash in Freya's room, the next they were booted from the server and couldn't get back in until they made Battle.net accounts. Only a couple of us did have accounts (neither my wife nor I had accounts; we do now :D). Frustrating.
Re: tix: no. Didn't even try.

Got the tickets I needed for myself, my husband, and a guildie. I logged into the store at about 12:50 PM eastern time and starting refreshing the ticket page. 8 minutes later, it popped and I was #54 in queue. So much better than the confusion and uncertainity of last year.

I ended up getting 2 tickets, one for myself and one for my boyfriend - was 215th in queue. My boyfriend and I were trying on our two computers. He refreshed and when he went to put tickets in his cart he ended up getting redirected to the main page and had to backtrack. It put him 3200th in the queue... at least I was up in front!
We didn't buy any extras, but are hoping to try and help our friends with spots in the queue on the 30th.

Oh, and about the queue system - I love it. Last year I was one of those people that had tickets in my cart and when I entered all my information and was ready to finalize, the tickets were gone. I still ended up getting to go without needing to buy tickets from scalpers but it was still an obnoxious experience. This was sooo much smoother! I absolutely cannot complain.
