Forum post of the day: Nerf Pop-Tarts
This is a few days old, but still a quality post. The original poster has a bad experience with a Pop-Tart, leading to nerf calls against fire damage - apparently a pastry being able to take his tongue down to 60% in one GCD is just too much burst. Of course, if the opponents hadn't been running a Pop-Tart/Toaster combo, this never would have happened; burn damage is highly situational.
It's a good set-up, but the thread really starts to shine when later posters get into it, like "You didn't specify the flavour of the pop tart, so we can't exactly see what the problem was. If it was strawberry that's kinda understandable since it is considered a hero class, but if it was brown sugar, yeah, you're making this up." You heard it here first: Strawberry is the Death Knight of toaster snacks.
What do you think: do Pop-Tarts need nerfs, or do you side with the poster who says that "Pop Tarts are fine. l2eat"?

Strawberry in OP imo. Also, Hello Kitty pop-tarts have WAY MORE SPRINKLES!!one! AND my Cherry alt can't ever get past 20 degrees on Heroic Toasters!!! AND Blizz froze my S'mores. (GC also promised me a wrapper. Just saying.)

"Eggs are a HYBRID, that's why they have so much synergy with so many comps. I mean Eggs/Toast, Eggs/Pancakes, Bacon/Egg/OJ, etc.. eggs can fit into any roll. Which obviously means that eggs need a solid NERF. You can't have a class be able to be a support roll, as in Eggs/Toast/Bacon, and be a main course in Eggs/OJ.
On top of that there is NO COUNTER to eggs. Salt an Egg - only tastes better. Syrup or Ketchup spilled on your eggs? No problem. Only have Toast and Egg - MAKE A SANDWICH. Heck add bacon and you have a more than competent 3's team. One second you're eating the egg, the next you break the yolk and suddenly it becomes DIP and BUFFS his teammate TOAST. BUFFS AFTER YOU'VE TAKEN OUT THE EGG.
How do you even compete with that. "

Do WowInsider posters have a quota of posts that they must make each week/month? Because that's the only reason I can see for this...

No strat... L2plan.
When facing the dreaded Pop-Tart there are 3 phases:
Phase 1: Immediately out of toaster
Pop-Tart has a full stack of the Heat buff, so direct attack is a bad idea, resulting in a mouth-wide Burn counterattack. You want to use your Nibble ability around the edges. Be sure to keep up Nibble until the entire outer crust is gone.
Phase 2: Crust gone
Pop-Tart's Heat stack has started to tick down, but it's till too dangerous to hit head-on yet. The best way to bring down that Heat stack quickly is to break off some of Pop-Tart's armor. Since you Nibbled away all the edges, this shouldn't be too tough. Be sure to equip your Mandible weapon, and use your Bite attack on the underside of Pop-Tart, taking off a chunk of its weaker back armor. This will expose the Pop-Tart core, and drop its Heat buff considerably.
Phase 3: Core exposed
Once a section of Pop-Tart's armor has been removed and the core exposed, that section will quickly become safe to attack with your Eat ability. You may still trigger the Burn counterattack, but likely the core will have lost so many stacks of Heat you can soak the damage without much trouble. Even so, you may want to have a healer with Cold Milk ready to cast just in case. Once you Eat the exposed core section and its frosting-reinforced front armor, continue on down Pop-Tart, switching between Phases 2 and 3 until you've pried away all it's back armor and Eaten all of the core and heavy front armor, defeating it.

Thanks for the blog link! I have no interest in ret palys but I had to subscribe to his RSS feed just for the hilarity of his posts! I especially liked the picture of the toddler licking the pig; so random and so funny.

Please. HotPockets, specifically the Ham and Cheese specs, are far more OP in terms of burst damage to the tongue.
