Authentication? Who needs that?

Apparently if you want to authenticate your game tonight, you'll be out of luck. At least for the time being.Authentication? Logging in? Who needs that?
There has been some conflicting information out there. According to Bornakk, all the issues have been resolved. However, according to Billtesdes the authentication issues are being investigated.
Judging by the number of you sending in tips to WoW Insider, I'd say things are definitely broken at the moment.
We'll update this post when more information is available.
Update: This issue is apparently fixed.

Guess I'll just have to wait til later to ride around on my pretty purple raptor.
I was so happy when I saw that color would be available as a mount. The Sunscale raptors of the barrens provided my fledgling hunter with one of her first pets, and I've loved that skin ever since.

I had the authentication problem just after the download process. It's working now, 3hs after. Don't know what happened.

Don't have a battle.net account and have not been able to get beyond the "Authenticating" screen for over an hour.

On the plus side, I am no longer sitting there until I time out. I now get the Unable to Connect message. Perhaps they're rebooting the auth servers?
