European weekly maintenance: 20th May 2009
Good morning Europe! How are we all this week? Enjoying Azeroth? As usual, it's maintenance time once more and today there is a little extra excitement in the form of patch 3.1.2.So with this in mind, all the European realms will be down between 3am and 11am CEST. Taking into account past weeks, this can change. The realms could be up by 8am or still down at noon. I will of course have my one eye fixed on the breaking news box and will update if and when one is needed.
So to keep you occupied, Daniel has once again come up with a witty morning of the patch post offering things to keep you occupied. Personally I'm rather excited, there's so much in this patch, from the equipment manager (note to self: go dual spec as soon as the realms return), Innervate (Druids FTW!) and those shiny new textures for the Argent Tournament mounts. Lovely. I just wish I could be so happy about the nerfing of the Wintergrasp dailies but c'est la vie.

will wintergrasp be a no-go zone for us EU punters?

12:00 now.

I was hoping for a major ret-pally nerf, but alas it just didn't happen. I don't think my heart can take anymore of pallies bubbling and just destroying five people at a time in BG's.
Although hunters get 5 seconds of disengage.. so at least that'll help, somewhat..

yeah it's until 12:00 now
took me 30 mins to write this

So it's definite that the Equip management thingie is coming today (for EU that is?)?
If so, GG Blizz, can't wait to go home :)

People who complain about pallys should spend their time learning how to beat a pally instead.
I hate extended maintenance :(
hoogies May 20th 2009 5:13AM
Explain to me, how a hunter can beat a pally who bubbles and just charges at you - I can't slow you, i can't trap you, - i can disengage to get some distance, but that doesn't always work and most of the time the pally still catches up.. or stuns me. Deterance can save me sometimes, but again, it only lasts 5 seconds and pallies can still damage me.
Baz May 20th 2009 5:49AM
If you're a hunter and you can't beat a paladin in a duel you should probably stop playing.
hoogies May 20th 2009 6:11AM
@Baz,
I suppose you are a ret-pally yourself? I have no problems in beating pallies when they don't have bubble up, and even if they do beat me without it up then alls fair. I don't mind that. However, when a pally just relentlessly storms into a group of us in a BG with a bubble up you just can't kill him...that can't be right.. It's to the point where the side that has the most pallies win the BG, they are broken.
I should've mentioned that i'm talking about the lvl 60-69 bracket BG's (51-60 for AV), my hunter is slightly twinked out at level 60 - although according to my friend, it gets worse at level 80.

@Hoogies
If you see a ret pally bubble, RUN AWAY UNTIL IT WEARS OFF.
It's not rocket science!

Realms look to be up, even if I have major lag

I love you Lesley Smith.

Could you please elaborate on innervate ? Maybe I did not understand everything, but it seems to me, it's a really huge nerf to druids mana regen.
let's have a look at the patch notes :
Innervate: This ability has been redesigned to grant 450% of the casting Druid's base mana pool to the target over 20 seconds,
Which gives me (if my data is correct) 13035 mana. In 3.1.1, I had something like 850 mp5 in the FSR, which gives something like 18700 mana. ZOMG ! Nerf droodz ! the new version of innervate is way too powerful !
Lasher May 20th 2009 7:15AM
It's NOT a HUGE nerf. It's a small-ish nerf to druids, but now it's actually good for classes that don't really use spirit.
Anuine May 20th 2009 8:04AM
Usually, innervate is used on healers.
Priests tend to have a lot of spirit, as do resto druids. On my server, Resto Shamys are quite rare nowadays, and I read it was quite a general problem. That's actually good for palaheal, but they don't seem to have mana problems currently.
So, now, we get a huge nerf (35% less mana is huge) on innervation for 2 classes. 2 classes that usually heal raid.
Next time you wipe because heals get oom after having already innervate, remember that this modification was actually welcomed...
(by the way, I don't care if a nerf hit my class/spec, however I do care if a nerf hit a nerf hit the capacities of my raid.)

EU realms up and wintergrasp is enabled, no problems detected, so long so nice ^^
