Breakfast Topic: What do you think of the Wintergrasp changes?

But, of course, there were problems. The Horde seem to out number us Alliance on my server and they're also a hell of a lot more organised. For them, Wintergrasp isn't just a sport, it's a carefully planned massacre. but, despite the instability, the DCs, the insufferable lag, it was fun. But I was keen to find out if Blizzard had plans to fix the problems so I asked Tom Chilton. He he specifically mentioned the issues of Wintergrasp and that they didn't think that the lag and other issues "was an acceptable play environment situation". So Blizzard did the 'smart' thing -- they nerfed it. Boo.
So readers? What do you think of the weekly quests? Do you think nerfing Wintergrasp was the way to go? Now you only have to do them once every seven days, do you think you will do the battles less? Are you pleased you now get more Shards for the quests? Can't care less? Tell us!

I found turtles to be more of a problem in AV. 30 people from each side stuck on the alliance bridge/horde gates/the big trail thing in the center. 5 people yelling at everybody to run past the opposing faction and 5 people off doing their own stuff. Nobody liked those 45 minute games.
But on the topic of WG, the rewards from the "weekly" quests are insulting. I am insulted by the rewards. What do they take me for? An idiot? And I'll admit, giving 7x the rewards as a weekly quest to somebody who only did the quests once a week anyway would be overcompensation.. But at least give us 4x the old rewards for the quests. Or even better, I have a great solution here:
Make the base rewards 3x (we'll say 3 reward "blocks") what they used to be, but then offer increased rewards based on how much honor the player received from Honorable Kills outside of WG the previous week.
For example, lets say player 'Elfkillah' scored 176 HK's the previous week, resulting in 7742 honor. Elfkillah also played 7 battlegrounds which rewarded another 3000 honor from winning. This 3k BG honor was not from HKs though so it doesn't count for this purpose. When Elfkillah goes to turn in his quests he receives another day's worth (or another "block") of rewards for every 2500 honor he earned the previous week from HK's. 7742 honor divided by 2500 per increased reward is roughly 3 "blocks" in addition the the base 3. That means he now has 6 blocks or rewards or the equivalent of 6 days of dailies.
Not only would this system compensate people for their lost dailies more fairly, it would encourage people to participate in pvp outside of WG, which is the entire point of all the WG revamps.

Super dislike the new WG. Definitely ruined one of the best parts of WotLK. :( :(

I haven't noticed a huge difference yet. Granted, I haven't managed to get into WG much since the patch, but when I have, its been the same as ever. Just with a few thousand fewer honor awarded. I like the fact I can get quite a bit of extra honor in a single go from the weekly quests, but I'll miss the long-term increase from doing the dailies.
Now if they really wanted to fix WG, they'd go back and move the second boss out of the Vault. Every pug I've gone in with so far since the patch have been long wastes of time. It's hard to pug that boss, and except maybe late night Mondays, few people are willing to get themselves saved to an instance like that when there's a glimmer of hope they might down the boss with a different raid later. If they were two raids, then the risk of getting saved to a doomed pug will go away and maybe people will actually kill

*Managed to bump the submit button before I was ready.*
...will actually kill the first boss again. I miss having a place I can run my non-raiding alts in to for a shot at some tier gear.

Alliance outnumbers Horde on Scarlet Crusade by about 3-1, so we usually can't win Wintergrasp battles anytime but late at night or early in the morning. :P But I like the idea of weekly quests, and new rewards for BGs, because it encourages people to PVP in more than one place.
