Breakfast Topic: What non-combat pets do you want implemented?
If there's one thing I've learned in the time I've spent playing WoW, it's that people are serious about the cute (and useless) tagalong polygonal pals we call non-combat pets. Blizzard apparently likes them too, since we got ten new ones with the launch of 3.1, as well as achievements to give you even more of them for hitting pet-number milestones. There are enough pets for you to fill every bag slot with them, and enough people who collect 'em to warrant pet toy vendors and whole websites dedicated to 'em.
But I'm not satisfied! In fact, I'll never be satisfied -- not until I get a non-combat Talbaby pet. I even did Blizzard the favor of designing it. See? Who wouldn't want that adorable ungulate following them around? NO ONE. THAT'S WHO.
How about you guys? Is there a specific type of non-combat pet, brand-new model or tiny version of an in-game model alike, you'd love to see? Is there a baby version of some fearsome beast you've scarcely lived without this whole time?

That's ADORABLE!
I wanted a skunk for SO long... and now there is one, so I guess for now, I'm pretty content... I'm still trying to get the stupid Crocs... I never got any of them :(

Well, we've seen human, draenei, orc and blood elf children... even baby tauren, trolls (in the orphanage over Nagrand)
I really want to see children versions of gnomes and dwarves.

You too? I thought I was the only person in WOW who as been religiously fishing "Crocs in the City" and coming up with everything BUT a croc pet. It is NOT, as some have said, a drop rate of 1 in 80 or 1 in 100. I liken it to the same drop rate as Baron Rivendare's stinkin' horse.
IRL, I'm not a dog lover, but I'd love to see dogs in the game. A calf would be nice. I'd like a sheep that doesn't get eaten. Personally, I find the wolf eating lamb thing kind of weird.
I think any pet that hunters can tame should have a non-combat equivalent. Yet, there is something to be said for non-combat pets being different from what hunters can get. What about lizards, like a chameleon or gila monster or Komodo dragon? We also need more bugs, like ladybugs or beetles. There are lots of beetles in various instances. Pets of those would be cool. More rodents, too; hamsters, guinea pigs and gerbils. How about a mini-Jeeves? When you pull him out, he offers to do one of 3 or 4 things: crack you open a cold one, shine your shoes, iron your shirt or fluff your pillows. It could be really funny in some circumstances.

I keep getting the same crocs over and over again.

A dog.
No not a wolf or anything, a bona-fide, tail wagging, tongue hanging out, slobbery dog.
Nerri May 22nd 2009 8:14AM
I second this. There is a whole bunch of different cats out there, but only one wolf and no dogs at all!
I would love a genuine dog model. :

Multiple breeds too
I need a beagle puppy following my paladin around!

Every race could have regional breeds.
Huskies for IF, retrievers for SW, Rottweiler’s for Darn, Mastiffs for the Tauren, the gargoyle dogs from ghostbusters for the undead?
You could even have celebrity dogs, like the Haris Pilton Hilton Chihuahua, or the Vike Mick Pit Bull.
Jay May 22nd 2009 10:57AM
And almost everyone would choose the husky.
... Including me.

I want a dogcow. Have wanted one since my first Mac in 94.
ustilago May 22nd 2009 12:25PM
Undead hounds for the undead! With glowing eyes! But without going over board on the rotted/bony textures.

I've wanted an in-game dog for the longest time...it's disappointing how long it's taken Blizzard to put a REAL one in. I have a handful of cats on my alliance toon, but no dog =(. I REALLY want an in-game version of my RL wiener dog, but ANY dog at this point would be awesome.
Sean Riley May 22nd 2009 5:29PM
Excellent suggestion.
And no, I'd not choose a Husky. I'd choose a beagle.
artifex May 23rd 2009 5:28AM
It would be awesome if you could do a quest such as rescue some puppies from a spatial rift in order to deliver them to an orphanage, and be rewarded with a puppy, yourself.

Cow

How about a warlock (or a miniature version of any class for that matter)? Can I have one of those for a pet?
Avan May 22nd 2009 1:32PM
I've got a warlock for a pet. It's really nice, but often times turns into a demon and starts to kill things.
Alchemistmerlin May 22nd 2009 3:27PM
Whenever my friend runs me through an instance (since I'm perpetually levelling it seems), he jokes about me being his warlock's non-combat pet.
