i am not very happy about this upcoming change at all...however, i don't think it will be the end of the world...1--the only thing changing is the "prismatic" quality of the gem...the stats of the gem won't change, the cut gem can still go into any slot, you just now won't get the socket bonus in some cases...2--it was nice to be able to use the "prismatic" gem cuts to get your meta gem socket requirements met, and now many people probly won't be able to meet their meta gem requirements, but once again, those bonuses are totally minimal in some cases, and some quite maximal in other cases, the best case scenario would be that it wouldn't give you the gear bonus but would still count toward the meta gem requirement? i hope so, but probably not...3--epic gem patterns are probly coming in the future anyway, so it'll be a huge money maker for JC's when that happens, so i'm not worried overall, the profession is still the best one overall as far as usefulness and money making...4--i think that one previous comment brought up a very good issue that dragon's eyes can't be cut into orange/green/purple gem cuts, i think that if they added those to the game, that would make a huge difference and would acheive what blizz wants and still allow JC's to have their core "perks" still intact...
