Patch 3.2 details released
Tipster Brian pointed us at the under development page, which is now listing details for Patch 3.2. It's looking pretty interesting, all told. More Argent Tournament! We're going to present a screenshot of the changes from the Under Development page after the jump, but just to make sure your appetites are whetted, so to speak (or type, I'm not actually talking) here's a detail: there will be a new battleground called the Isle of Conquest, a large scale siege between the Horde and the Alliance.
But wait, there's more!

Yes, there's more. The Argent Tournament expands, with new dailies and rewards, which is a welcome addition for those of us gearing up alts I'm sure. And we now know that when Patch 3.2 launches we'll see a new Arena season. But for me the really interesting news is Crusader's Coliseum.
"In order to prepare for a siege on Icecrown Citadel, players will be called by the Argent Crusade to test their mettle in the Coliseum. 5-player, 10-player, and 25-player challenges await inside." Emphasis most definitely mine. What does this mean? Will it be PvP or PvE? Are we talking a scaleable instance with a 5, 10 and 25 man version? Pure speculation on my part leads me to wonder if we'll see something like a Violet Hold style event, with random opponents spawning to fight a party or raid sized group, but as of now all I know is what you know. I'm really, really curious about this.

Don't we already have that battleground? I mean what is Strand of the Ancients? Plus we have wintergrasp... I want something really different for a bg... maybe one that is indoors and smaller scale. That's probably just me though.

I wonder if more battlegrounds will leave the overall "Battleground Scene" too diluted; fewer people available per BG, longer queues, etc. etc.
stephen moore May 22nd 2009 3:35PM
Hmmmm.
I wonder is the Coliseum the new 5 man instance then. AND the secret new raid.
Looks interesting at any rate.

I have an idea about the new raid.
About 6 months ago someone asked, if we could have a "coliseum that pits us against old 40-man bosses."
Yeah.

All this time I've been wondering what I was training for at the Battle of the Citadel...

There is also a huge JC Nerf:

Wow, that's a major nerf for sure. Makes you wonder if they'll do the same to prismatic belt buckles.
tutti May 23rd 2009 1:07PM
I doubt it. They're changing the dragon's eye gems 'cause they make it too easy to get certain socket bonuses, and the belt buckles don't affect socket bonuses at all.

Sounds like it'll be interesting times in these new events... pvp would be awesome if that's the case for these 5/10/25-mans...

Ugh, more vehicles... Anyone else sick of these stupid things?

I thought the very same thing until the Argent Tournie came out. I'm really liking the way that mounted combat is shaping up. I hope that they continue to expand upon it. I would really like to see the integration of a limited number of our toons abilities to the Vehicle bars. Pallies riding around hitting things with Judgements or exorcism, Rogues and Fan of Knives, Mages and Frost Bolts, etc. This would really add some intrigue to mounted combat.

No
Gryph667 May 22nd 2009 3:55PM
And from my real account, again, no.

Coliseum definitely sounds like a Violet Hold/Black Morass sort of event. Or maybe more like Ring of Blood... My bet is it will feature vehicles of some sort.
Bubsa May 22nd 2009 3:47PM
That Colliseum business has the potential to be legendary.
Smeg hoping it is.
Elmo May 22nd 2009 3:51PM
To me the Colliseum sounds like a PvE Arena. random boss vs raid for lewts or ranking/badges whatever as a way to get some stuff that will help you in real raids, like Feasts, Flasks or stuff
atree496 May 22nd 2009 4:18PM
That would be awesome, I had ideas about this before.

I hope the Coliseum is a new raid/instance. At this point in the last expansion, we had KZ, Gruuls, Mag, SSC and TK, whereas in this xpac we have one re-used raid instance, two very short ones, and one longer raid. It just feels like there's less to do, as far as raid/dungeon content goes.
I really enjoyed the release of MgT and Sunwell Isle last expansion, which ultimately drew me back into the game after a couple months off, and I think they can keep things fresh by giving us new places to run.
If it is a new dungeon, with variable settings between 5, 10 and 25, that would be sweet.

Actually, the content amount is about the same, and right on track.
Ulduar can really be thought of as equal to those 2 medium-length raids (TK, SSC) COMBINED. Not to mention that Ulduar has more encounters than the two of them put together.
