@ JT - while it is true that they provide this service for free, the facts still remain:

1. If they ignore what the readers are seeking, they begin to lose readership. This, in turn, results in lost advertising revenue from click-throughs and sponsorships, which results in them not getting paid, which results in the site having to charge a subscription if it wants to stay afloat, which results in even fewer readers...

2. It's still hard on the eyes.
