Lodur provides some good argument for resto healing, but I think he's missing the point the post on the forums he quotes is stating. It's about being optimal, at the moment priests and druids can heal a raid faster and more effectively than a shaman can especially at those tougher level bosses where groups aren't together. That's what the complaint was over, we're getting kicked for that extra DPS slot when guilds decide to downsize their healers.

As a shaman healer, I felt a stirring of pride when I read Lodur's post...but as I sat back and thought about it, I can't help but feel the OP in the forum thread is kind of correct.
My guild is still in Naxx, so my Chain Heals are a little bit more effective since fights tend to be in small areas, but so much of the time after big AoEs, the two priests I raid with tend to have cleared up most of the raid's damage by the time my Chain Heal gets out. All I'm basically left to do in some of those situations is topping off.

Everything CriticalQQ says is true.
I love polymorphing. I spent three hours perfecting a macro with auto-focus-clearing capabilities and shift modifier override. I love having something to do besides spam fireball and scorch. I will PAY YOU to stop aoe'ing and let me turtlemorph something.

The post from Critical QQ: Love it to death. Then a ress and another death. Because really, let us mages polymorph more! Do you know how happy I was the day I got my glyph to polymorph things into penguins? Or how annoying picking up easter eggs for the bunny polymorph can be? Mark more mobs with that shiny little moon, and let me transform it from awful to cute. I beg you.
If not, no more yummy tables for you. I swear!
