Personally, i liked the idea of heirloom items when they were first introduced, i quickly spent badges and bought the shoulders for my mage and my shammy (both were around level 20-30) However, Something about having the same piece of gear for 80 levels, to me, seems like a bit of cheating and more so is incredibly boring. In the same way i find getting a new ring nowhere near as exciting as a cool shiny new sword or some armor plated leggings, looking the same for 80 levels (as many druids will tell you ;) ) is quite boring to me.
So, i put both pairs of shoulders in the bank. I like the xp bonus, but i find gearing up as i level one of the best parts of the game, so i don't use them anymore.
Im sure other people love them and i can see why, i would just like to have more xp (maybe increase the rest limit to 5 levels or something at a time?) without having to use certain gear that either makes me ridiculously powerful or look the same while apparently getting stronger.

This is why the game is great. Some people love to level and see the content they might have missed in some area, some people just want to get to the top and do... err... whatever we do.
