I don't recall Blizzard ever coming out and saying exactly why they don't allow championing (wearing a tabard to gain rep) during raids, but there's some good reasons the community has come up with. It's speculated that the primary reason is that if people could gain rep via tabards during raids, there would be even less incentives to run 5-man dungeons. This eliminates a significant portion of the game. Another reason is the sheer amount of grinding that often takes place during the trash, and subsequent respawns, during the course of a raider's lifetime. Think of the millions of Core Hounds I've killed in Molten Core over the past four years. If I got rep from each one of those, I'd be the Bill Clinton of WoW. /thumb-up-bite-lip-while-smiling-and-nodding-head.

Hey, I resent that!
Check your level and make sure that you're fighting a dummy that is appropriate. Of course, it depends on what Blizzard's definition of is is, not yours.

It's around 1%. They increased it recently, but it's still pretty damn low. Way way low.

Probably not, they have done a lot of Troll raids in previous content, and now there's a whole zone. They tend not to repeat stuff too many times (although there are examples to the contrary). You never know though, trolls have cool Sax / Jazzy music playing, so that might be a reason to include more raids.

From what I remember, it's been on the list of things they're working on since 3.0 was announced. It's just not something high up on that list.
It was also mentioned along side personal tabards

Blizzard have stated that, whilst it is an idea, they think it's unnecessary as tabards are fairly inexpensive and their solution to the problem was to introduce the tabard vendor who will sell you any of the ones available to you.
They've said they're not working on it, not that it's a low priority... though naturally it is.

It's there. Mouseover "Contact Us" in the upper-right corner of the site and you'll see it there aggressively requesting you to "Send us a Tip!"

If the next expansion is set in the south seas and maelstrom, I suspect we will have at least one more troll dungeon in our future. Somewhere in there is the Zandalar home land, for one thing, and other vicious jungle/island trolls

I hope so! I would love to finally be able to explore a real troll capital city. I'm guessing that Zandalar will be neutral if implemented, though I suppose it's possible that it would be a Horde city.

I was just thinking about that. Shattrath and Dalaran are bit of alliance flavored. Shattrath maybe not that much but surely if its some flavor its more Alliance than Horde because of Light. Dalaran is Alliance flavored even in lore and horde "is allowed there because of Sunreaver". Shat = Light("Paladin city"), Dala = arcane("mage city"). So next xpack Zandalar = nature("shaman city")?

I wouldn't be surprised at all about troll raids. The empire spanned the world before things went awry. There is *almost* no where that troll ruins couldn't be discovered.

Erm, the question was "why CAN I get soul shards from training dummies", not "can't". I noticed that too, but since soul shards are a complete afterthought for Affliction... meh. One of these days I'll cave and get rid of my soul shard bag too.

Maybe I'm alone on this, but I have no problem getting shards from Training Dummies. I usually fill up my bag at IF then go raid or PVP.
