The Queue: Boom boom boom
Welcome back to The Queue, WoW Insider's daily Q&A column where the WoW Insider team answers your questions about the World of Warcraft. Alex Ziebart will be your host today.Todays edition of The Queue should be read while playing Boom Boom Pow in the background. It's completely irrelevant to WoW or anything discussed today, but I haven't been able to stop playing the song for about a week now and it's really starting to drive me crazy. If I can't stop listening to it, I'll just make other people listen to it. Schadenfreude is just as good as a cure.
Jfofla asked...
"My question is about the 100 Mounts Achievement. With the introduction of the AT, this is more doable than ever before. Is there a current database of all available mounts to help those seeking 100?"
Yep! The WoW community is pretty crazy about building up resources like these, so just check out either WarcraftMounts.com or WoWCollect.com, that's all you should need. If you want others, just hit Google. There are oodles of them.
Ian R. asked...
"What ever happened to the Know Your Lore and Ask a Lore Nerd columns?"
Ask a Lore Nerd hasn't gone anywhere, it was just delayed a little because I had other big projects around the site that was pulling me away. That one will be back this week. I'm going to be trying to bring back Know Your Lore, and it actually should have been back already. The issue with that one is I always feel like I've run out of material, even if it's absolutely not the case. If there's something you really, really want to see in Know Your Lore when it returns, e-mail your suggestions to me at alex@wow.com and I'll add them to a list.
VSUReaper asked...
"Will we ever see Prot PVP gear for Paladins and Warriors (gear that has more than stam/resil - /glare at shields) or will we be forced to continue to wear our old raid gear gemmed and chanted with resil to be competitive?"
We haven't heard anything about this, but I can agree that I'd like to see it, too. I don't know how different it would be from the Ret gear for Paladins or the Arms/Fury gear for Warriors beyond glove bonuses, though. The tank-spec exclusive stats are probably things they would want to avoid stacking in PvP. You already get a lot of Strength to boost your Block Value, but adding even more via straight Block Val might not be such a great thing for PvP.
It's not like there's any other tank stat that's useful in PvP. Wearing the DPS gear might be for the best. Better shield itemization would be nice though, along with different glove bonuses perhaps. Otherwise? Eh.
Kevin Gass asked...
"Any chance that the Raven Lord mount Boss will spawn without a Druid in the party? I really want it."
Unless something changed recently (and I'm pretty sure it hasn't), no, Anzu won't spawn unless you have a Druid with the proper summoning item in your party. Sorry.

Here's a question about the terms of use agreement that we must accept every time the game gets patched. I certainly don't bother reading it and I'm fairly certain that most others don't either, so couldn't Blizzard pull a fast one and make us agree to something we wouldn't normally agree to by hiding something in the legal fine print? I can't really think of any examples here (maybe something that violates internet privacy?) and perhaps it's a stupid question, but I'm just curious.
PeeWee May 28th 2009 7:31PM
Technically they can, yes. If you don't want to read the whole thing, just glance at the date of the agreement. If it has changed, I suggest you read the whole bananza again if you want to make sure you're not agreeing to something you'll regret later.
As for music, I sincerely suggest Heimataerde - "Herr Mannelig". Not sure if it's possible to get it anymore though, it was on their MySpace music player for a limited time only.

There are a few legal decisions on the validity of "click-wrap" licenses that everyone scrolls through, and they are generally enforceable. If they snuck in something like "player agrees to assign Blizzard the rights to his or her first born child" you'd have other arguments for not being bound, but for the most part, if it's related to the game, you're agreeing to it whether you read it or not.

I knew it was a trap! The song is seared in my head now!!!!

Is there any Lore behind shadow priests? I can't find a single, important NPC that is a shadow priest.
Cyrus May 28th 2009 7:54PM
This is ex recto, but I'll bet most shadow priests in the lore are trolls, and there's less lore about them than about humans or elves. Forsaken, of course, have only existed for six years or so in WoW time, and when lore creators want to make a caster character "dark" they seem to not mess around with priests and go straight to warlocks. (I'm thinking of Putress here, who wears a warlock set, doesn't he?)

One question.. has i started raiding only in wotlk, I've spent a lot of time reading sites like elitist jerks for advise, and from the posts there everyone seems to be in an amazing world of insane dps in every boss fight, and i dont see anywhere that kind of numbers in anyone in my guild, yet, we cleaned everything up to os25 3d and are up to 11 kills in ulduar25... are these people lying in those posts or the margin of skill to a kill is that big? (being a mage, i get like between 4 and 5k dps average on a fight, and in this posts see people claim to pull 7000 and such (this being bosses without special buffs))

My boyfriend was listing loads of stuff on the AH the other day when he noticed that enchanting mats don't cost anything to list. Is there any reason for this?
ziggler May 28th 2009 8:04PM
Ah prices for listing are based on the vendor price, cant sell enchant mats to a vendor, so, 0g for listing
turkeylunatrix May 28th 2009 8:22PM
Now that Maly should be dead because of 10/25 daring 'heroes' (lol noone dies in wow) what purpose do the Kirin Tor have in crystal song. Secondly what's the point of keeping Dalaran floating miles in the sky when they could just land the thing.
Lokasenna May 28th 2009 8:37PM
If nothing else, it's a bit more secure from Arthas when it's 500 feet above ground, oherwise he could just line up catapults on the Icecrown wall and have at it.

Why is 'All the World's a Stage' not under the lore tab at the top of the page?

A couple of questions regarding Ulduar logic.
First, the reason we have to kill Algalon is supposedly because he's going to send an "oh crap" signal to the Titans, indicating that Azeroth needs to be reduced to its component atoms and reborn. If the Titans had that sort of power, why didn't they use it on the Old Gods to begin with, instead of imprisoning them under the surface?
Second, aren't the Titans going to wonder what happened to Algalon when he doesn't show back up after his field trip?
Haarits May 29th 2009 1:57PM
The Titans don't worry about Algalon, because the players don't KILL Algalon. They simply delay his "Do over!" message, and in doing so, convince him that the world's in good hands. He then sends a different message to the Titans saying "Everything's cool here, these heroes are up to the task of defending this world."

Had a bit of a WoW hiatus lately and haven't been to Ulduar yet. So guys n gals what's the deal with gear requirements for a tank? Can you step straight into 10-man in Naxx10/OS10/Maly10 gear or are the rumours true that you should theoretically be in Naxx25 gear before you step in?
I can understand a difference for DPS possibly, but I'm sitting on 28.4k HP unbuffed with a nice chunk of mitigation/avoidance. Have 12 points or so overcapped on Defense that am looking at dropping/switching some enchants around. And yes I am working on the mats for the new Blade Warding (or w/ever it is) weapon enchant to replace +26 agi.
Some serious advice please, I'd rather learn through good ol' WoW(insider) than through a very nasty bout of repair bills & ridicule :P
