The Daily Quest: A podcast, eh?

- Serennia discusses the 2v2 arena bracket. Would we be better off if they replaced it with a 4v4 bracket?
- Too Many Annas answers reader mail regarding a fairly widespread (in my experience) phenomenon: RPers griefing RPers that raid simply because they raid.
- Are you a Hunter? Are you a Hunter that hates Naxxramas as much as I do? The Hunter's Rhok shows you how to gear up for Ulduar without it!
- Episode #115 of All Things Azeroth has been released. This week it features an interview with Cadistra of WoW, Eh? along with a whole load of other topics.

Remove all three present brackets and replace them with nothing. Best solution.

It’s because Blizzard has focused so much time on raiding and things deemed less useful (like Arena’s) and ignored the main content for RPer’s, mainly, the lore and questing. They don’t add new questing content, just dailies, which add nothing to the lore.
RPer’s have only seen their content torn down, lore destroyed, ripped apart, and generally crapped on. Frankly, Blizzard doesn’t give any reason for RPer’s to even play WoW. There’s no housing, no customization of looks (i.e. cosmetic clothing), and no advancement of the lore in a good way. Games like EQ2 and LotRO both seem like much better choices for RPer’s.
So not sure why any would stay with WoW, it’s almost anti-RP. True RPer’s might want to look to games that will cater to them better, and treat them with respect.
So if RPer’s are lashing out, this is why, they feel neglected, and with good reason. They should do the smart thing and move to a better RP game, because WoW has no RP value.

With all due respect - and I haven't listened to the podcast, so forgive me - but perhaps RPers are lashing out at people for doing what they do because EVERYONE ELSE lashes out at RPers just for RPing? It's a two way street, people. Respect us and our pass-time, we respect yours. Don't, and we don't.
As ScytheNoire stated, Blizzard focuses the entire game on raiding and PvP and gives absolutely nothing to the RPers. I understand that raiding is the main focus of the game (I do both, for reference. Raiding and RP are my main activities within the game.) Whereas Blizz is constantly updating the UI with complicated things to make things easier for raiders and the like - voice chat, improved LFG interface, etc. - RPers still have to use mods to do the most basic IC things, such as speak custom languages, display a surname and title, and a biography. Games like LoTRO and EQ2 offer these kinds of options and more by default. Cosmetic clothing, housing, the ability to create and display family trees and biographies and surnames, the ability to dye armor to your liking, and display clothing other than your armor for cosmetic purposes; these are all features that LoTRO and EQ2 have offered either since launch, or shortly thereafter. WoW has been in the game for four, almost five years now, and still lacks even the most basic of commodities for role-players.
I've since mostly moved on from WoW, but I still play from time to time, and really, it baffles me why they pander to the casuals, the raiders, and the PvPers all at once, but for nearly five years straight, not only have they ignored Role-Players as far as game features are concerned, but they also absolutely neglect the RP servers themselves, allowing them to be overrun with non-RPers and griefers and others who don't follow the server rules and ruin the game for the few RPers that do exist. If Blizzard were to create a single RP server - maybe two - and simply devote some manpower to be dedicated to policing and enforcing RP-server rules on said servers, so that all RPers could gather there and RP as they desire, then there would be no problems. But Blizz, quite frankly, does not give a rat's ass about the role-players, and it shows.
Would it be difficult or resource-demanding to give some love to the role-players? No, not at all. But it's more than Blizz can be asked to do. Roleplayers have every right to lash out. They're ridiculed and treated like subpar trash by their peers, who seem to think they're better than roleplayers, that they're any less of losers than the roleplayers, simply because they choose to raid or PvP instead. It's rubbish, and it makes me nerdrage that you choose to highlight "RPers lash out at raiders for raiding," in your podcast, despite the fact that "Raiders lash out at RPers for RPing," is an event that occurs fucking daily.

Just an addendum, now that I've read the article that the section of the podcast seemed to be based upon: In the case of an RPer being ostracized by other RPers because they raid, that's absolutely bumfucking ridiculous, and the RPers in question should be ashamed. RP is weak enough on WoW as it is even without a bunch of idiots creating further schisms within the community. It's possible to raid and RP at the same time, and I'd argue it should be encouraged. Nothing annoys me more than roleplayers who RP being grand-master warriors with a legendary sword when they're actually level 20 with green gear. You shouldn't RP AROUND the game, you should RP with it; If you want to say you've plumbed the depths of Ulduar for arcane knowledge, you should actually go and do it. Bring back loot as a token of the trip and show it off ICly. My two cents, anyway. Back to your regularly schedule program.
