The Queue: You ain't nothin' but a Core Hound

There's a few good questions today of various voluptuous varieties: raiding, legal ToS (TNG > ToS, by the way), and new gaming hardware. Yummy.
Start me off, Delks...
Edit: Please be sure to listen to Fly Me To The Moon by Ol' Blue Eyes during today's Queue, or you can listen to the title's name sake song.
"What's the point of running old world raids and instances?"
Several, besides the obvious one of achievements. First, they offer compelling story lines that really help tie up many of the arcs that run through the stories present in the 1 through 60 game. Secondly, the dungeons are quite visually impressive if you haven't been through them a few hundred times already. It's just fun from a gameplay stance. Finally, running the old world content can still give some unique rewards that people covet, like bug mounts in AQ40 (although they're only usable in AQ40), or the tiger and raptor mounts from ZG.
George asked...
"Here's a question about the terms of use agreement that we must accept every time the game gets patched. I certainly don't bother reading it and I'm fairly certain that most others don't either, so couldn't Blizzard pull a fast one and make us agree to something we wouldn't normally agree to by hiding something in the legal fine print?"
They could sneak something crazy in, but that would be supremely evil and cause a significant backlash against their company. They won't do such a thing for that reason alone. If there was anything way out line, like the example of signing over your first born that Erik pointed out, you'd have quite a powerful argument.
In the end remember that the agreements between you and Blizzard really amount to nothing more than a fair set of rules normal and fair minded people would agree to abide by: no botting, no harassment, no hacking, etc...
Of course, I Am Not A Lawyer (iAnal), and there is fine print for a reason... See? Now I'm not culpable for anything I said. Horray! Drinks are on me. Oh wait...

Okkienookie asked...
"Any dates when the new Logitech keyboard is coming out?"
The Logitech G19 is showing up as released on the Logitech site, and you can order it for $200. It's not showing up as released on Amazon yet, and Best Buy doesn't have it in their inventory either. So it likely was just released in the past few days. I've heard rumblings that Dell had an exclusive deal with Logitech, but wasn't able to find anything on it while briefly searching.
I'll be ordering mine after I find out how many BlizzCon tickets I'm buying this weekend for people.

i read through it once. my favorite part is the part where you don't own the game, your account, the software or even the cd it came on. you are merely renting it all from them on a monthly basis, and if you break the rules, they don't have to let you keep it.

Despite the "Meeting of the Minds" requirement to contracting, people are generally deemed to have read a contract that they have signed. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/L%27Estrange_v._Graucob Otherwise one could always simply say "but I didn't read it" in order to get out of a contract.
As for EULAs, it actually varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction as to how "enforceable" they are. But EULAs like Blizzard's do meet all of the technical requirements of a contract. Offer, Acceptance, Consideration, intent to be bound (presumed). By clicking "I Agree" most courts hold that you have accepted a contract.
That said, courts have long be dubious about clickwrap licenses, and if a license contained truly egregious terms buried in the fine print then it is very likely that a court would invalidate the license, or a term of the license, as being "Unconscionable" or a contract of adhesion.
None of this gets to the real reason why Blizzard doesn't do this type of thing...Adam nailed it in his post. It's because it would be a PR nightmare (google Facebook Terms of Service for an example).

Here's something I've been wondering: how do I know I'm seeing everything in the game (Old World, Outland, and Northrend) that's worth experiencing? I'm just in vanilla still, but the content can still be overwhelming at times and I always feel like I may be missing out on interesting or fun parts of the game, simply because I don't realize they are there.

It's very hard to see "everything" while you're the appropriate level. Even back during vanilla WoW, if you tried to do EVERY quest then some would go gray in your log before you did them all*, and that's a lot more true now that they've sped up the leveling process.
However, if you don't mind going back later after you're too high level for a zone or quest chain, achievements should be a very good guide. If you get the Loremaster meta-achievement and the instance completion achievements, you're seeing pretty close to everything. You can use the "detect lower-level quest-givers" tool to see what you're missing. See your reputation window; a lot of them are unfeasible unless you're insane, but several reputations can get up there once you've done just a few quests or turnins and once you get them up new quests or storylines become available. Watch especially for
* Unless you did nothing but solo and group quests to level. Only killing the mobs required to complete a quest, no instances, etc.

I'm so happy that signs of the new druid forms are comeing out but...When exactly are they comeing out? is there a chance that they could come out sooner if blizz finishes them sooner? if not what are the chances of the next patch comeing out in a month or so? Haven't druids suffered enough? when will the tourment end? WHEN!?

Are the Wintergrasp weekly quests resetting earlier for some people out there?
I did all of mine on the Tuesday when dailies became weeklies but for me they reset on Saturday and again on Tuesday.
Now it's Friday and a couple of the quests have reset (No Mercy and gathering quests).
How strange.

I have a question that I've been meaning to ask for a while now about a problem I've seen w/ my DK's ghoul/pet in comparison to my hunter's pet.
It's been a while since I've played my hunter, but I seem to remember that if my pet takes down a mob without my hunter doing any damage, the mob is still lootable.
Not such the case on my DK. If I'm fighting a mob and my ghoul takes someone down while I'm working on another targer, the kill done by my ghoul is not lootable unless I'm done some damage on that target.
I know it's best to go home first to comfirm that this is indeed the case, but I keep forgetting to post this question, so I decided to post know before I forget again.
And, if this is the case, can I expect/hope that the "issue" w/ my ghoul will be addressed?
If this is not how the game is working, I apologize in advance for my error.
Microtonal May 29th 2009 4:50PM
As far as I know, hunters have never been able to loot mobs that their pet has killed without its master.
Ben May 29th 2009 4:53PM
Mobs killed by hunter pets without any damage applied by the hunter are not lootable.
Lornicide May 29th 2009 4:54PM
Like I said, been meaning to get on my old hunter and test that out. Just kept forgetting to do it. Thanks.
Celeane May 29th 2009 5:35PM
You don't already think the TOS are heavily skewed in Blizzard's favor? Maybe it's not as exploitative as say, a cell phone contract, but we still don't actually have many rights.
Greyshot May 29th 2009 5:50PM
Maybe I've missed it, but running the various heroics, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of hunter gear that drops. Most of the mail that drops, from any of the bosses, has Shammy stats. Due to scheduling and real life constraints, I haven't been able to do Naxx yet, so I'm hoping there'll be some better drops for hunters in there. Am I missing something or has Blizz relatively ignored hunter gear in heroics?
jbodar May 29th 2009 7:32PM
Yep, you missed it.
http://www.wow-loot.com/hunter.htm
Click the Heroic Mode tab to see all Heroic drops for Hunters. Either you've just been running Oculus and HoS, or some of these drops are pretty rare.
Greyshot May 30th 2009 2:18AM
I'm guessing they're either very rare, or I'm extremely unlucky. I've seen a couple of those drop and have them, but it seems like more often that not the shammy gear is what drops. I've run all of the 5 man heroics and except AN and OK have completed them.
I guess I just need to keep grinding them out... sooner or later I'll see something better than the Swiftarrow gear I currently have equipped.
Thanks for the link, I've got that added to my WoW folder now

Q: Does any addon exist that blocks quildsignup popups ?
I have nothing against signing to help out,
but 9 out of 10 of those people don't bother to ask politely first
and most importantly, the popup windows break and clear any other actions you might have under way, such as accessing mailbox or using the AH.

Found one by replies on another post - "Automaton" has this option.

In the last two weeks my buddy and I have gone to AQ40 7 times and never gotten in. We have waited as long as an hour, constantly trying to get in, but no. When have also tried ZG and SSC, same result.
