Failoc-alypse bursts onto the scene!

"Oops flag? You're one dead Murloc!"
I recommend everyone takes a bit to play the game. It's good fun. As you progress in levels more people come out to watch you play. Around level 40 Arthas himself comes out to cheer you on. It's unknown what happens at later levels, if there really is a cow level, and what the gold cap is.
You can also click through for a bunch of basic instructions at the loading screen, and there's some funny ones hidden amongst them.
Let's look at some Failoc-alypse hints.
Use your charge attack
Stand in the middle and kill with your charge attack as a Dranei, or if you're a Witch Doctor or Marine stand off to one side and let a rip. You'll kill a lot more.
Farm gold for the later levels
Just like in WoW, you want to farm as much gold as possible for the later levels. Each nuke you release costs 250g and destroys everyone on screen. Since more Murlocs come out during the end game, be sure to save your nukes until then.
Don't worry about letting Murlocs slip by
There is apparently no negative consequences for allowing a Murloc to exit the game area. Personally, I think this will be nerfed in patch 1.1. Ghostcrawler has mentioned how Blizzard's side scrolling games have a tendency to give "too much room for error" for casual players who doesn't feel the need to kill everything. There was some initial math he presented in which he mentioned the ratio of Murlocs killed to Murlocs escaped should be right around (1 + sqrt(5))/2. We'll see if he can't correct this serious flaw. And he better, because he promised me a pony, damnit.

The flag of a particularly fail failoc.

I wonder when it will get so popular that Blizzard will put 15 dollars/month fee on it.

I got Arthas to come out and cheer at level 30. Did they recently buff Death Knight?
rastafafa May 30th 2009 3:45PM
I hope 2.0 comes out soon with a proper design. This game has serious flaws, I got insane lag already at lvl 10 (apparently it doesn't like it when I fire too fast)..

There should be an addon to play it in WoW.

I got to around level 75 until I stopped. A weird graphical glitch happened; I think I glitched the charge shot D=

I noticed that when it bugs for Jim Raynor, he can also move while charging.

Had to stop, was getting wrist pain from the repetitive button mashing.
WitchDoctor is the easiest to play, DK the hardest.

There actually is a negative consequence to letting failocs get through. Doing so resets your combo counter to 0. Every 100 combo points increases your gold multiplier by .5. I had it up to to 3x (400+ combo points) before one finally got through.

Got up to level 81 and quit. Thought it would only go up to 80 and got bored when it didn't. Only interesting people were the dwarf from golden axe and the Lich King.
Got a combo of about 4000. It's all about nukes. You've just got to start from the start. Witch Doctor is easy, but Marine is even easier, since it's easier to turn around and shoot just 1 and such. Also, you can stand where the money is and just shoot them from off in the distance from the start.
I got the 4000 combo on the Marine by just saving up all money and not letting any one trough until I got a multiplier of about x2 from the start. Then I'd save nukes and only used one when I wasn't going to get a failoc that slipped past. All I did was move up and down repeateadly and constantly shoot. Don't actually aim for particular failocs, just move back and forth and spam shoot. Once you get enough gold you can just spam nukes and never lose the combo or run out of money as long as your careful. at x20 I got 2000 gold from a few bags. Even the small bags could pay for a nuke.
Eventually the game got extremely boring.
TL;DR version: Nukes are OP. Use Marine.

The dwarf is from lost vikings (an ancient blizzard game), not golden axe.
Drakk May 30th 2009 4:29PM
World First lvl 81 DK!!! W0000T
Scyrge May 30th 2009 4:30PM
Got to level 100 and gave up. Figured it would at least have a "You Win!" type of thing after that much time. Highest multiplier counter I had was around 35.
ChaosPrime May 30th 2009 4:32PM
I had a Viking come at around 50, presumably a Lost Viking, as well at the Arthas at around 40. Got to 71 and gave up when nothing new happened.
