Nourish, a WoW recipe blog
Blogger and WoW.com friend Pixelated Executioner has introduced a brand new blog project -- he's working with a few other folks in the community on a new blog called Nourish, dedicated to providing some fun and relatively easy WoW-related recipes for real food. It all originally started over on Twitter, where a few of them decided to come up with some WoW-themed dish names, but eventually it escalated into the idea of an actual set of recipes, with the added bonus of getting some WoW players some real homemade food to eat as well (you can only go so far on Doritos and Mountain Dew, after all). There's only two recipes so far (both submitted by another friend of ours, Cadistra of WoW, Eh?), but that spice bread does look pretty tasty. If you're a foodie or just have been looking for a way to use something other than the microwave in your kitchen, it seems like a great place to start. And if you need more than the few they've got up so far, don't forget our old Well Fed Buff column -- it's retired now, but we've still got plenty of great WoW-related recipes to try making there as well.

So long as they don't come up with the recipe for Morning Glory Dew, I can't wait!
niko Jun 1st 2009 3:13PM
I thought Morning Glory Dew was merely a take on some good ol' Miller Genuine Draft beer.
Recipe solved! :D
I, myself, however, enjoy the champagne of beers, Miller High Life, as my staple beer. :)

The Bronze Kettle (I think that's what it was called) where Shelbi Roach originally posted prior to her stint on World of WarCrafts has some great recipes up as well.

Ya I knew there was a website that had recipes already.

Keep an eye out right here at WoW.com for "World of WarCrafts" later today. We'll be including the occasional "Well Fed Buff"-style recipe ... In fact, there's a new recipe coming later this afternoon!

waiting for a Cease and Desist letter from Blizzard on them

They aren't selling anything.
Blizzard hasn't C&D'd anyone who wasn't selling products they have no right to. One of the wonderful double edged things about Copyright law is that once you hold a copyright you are under legal obligation to uphold it, or risk losing it due to precedent. Don't act like Blizzard is evil for stopping people from earning money off of Intellectual Property that the seller has no right to.

There's a commercial site that sells 2 WoW themed Cook Books. The Tauren Chef Cookbook (AKA The MMO Cookbook) and Wrath of the Kitchen King.
If you sign up for the newsletter on the site you get (or used to, I just checked and don't see the offer anywhere) a mini cookbook. Mine had "Savory Deviate Delight" in it. Here's the recipe as it appears in the recipe book (Minus the very nice picture that accompanies it in the actual book):
Savory Deviate Delight
This experiment in deviation from the norm comes to you straight from
the barrens of Kalimdor.
Sporting the latest in exotic ingredients this crafty delight will result in quite the surprising transformation.
Chef's Note: This recipe calls for deviate fish, which can be found at the Wailing Caverns, or in the Barrens at the Lushwater Oasis, the Stagnant Oasis, or the Forgotten
Pools.
If you are unable to locate deviate fish at your local vendor, we suggest that you substitute halibut steaks or another fish.
Ingredients:
· 2 lbs. fresh or thawed (if frozen) deviate steaks
(use halibut or another fish if you can't find deviate)
· 1 medium onion, thinly sliced
· 2 cloves garlic, minced
· 1 Tbsp olive oil
· 1 Tbsp butter
· 1 tsp salt
· Freshly ground pepper to taste
· 1/2 cup apple juice
· 1 Tbsp lemon juice
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400° Fahrenheit.
Cut fresh or thawed fish into serving size pieces and arrange in a single layer in a baking
dish.
Gently sauté onion and garlic in oil and butter over low heat for about 3 to 5 minutes until tender, but not brown. Stir in salt.
Distribute onion mixture evenly over fish steaks.
Combine apple juice with lemon juice and pour evenly over the fish.
Grind pepper over fish steaks. A medley of variously colored peppercorns looks and
tastes great.
Cover the dish with foil and bake at 400° Fahrenheit for 20 to 25 minutes.
Fish is done when it flakes easily with a fork. Fish is delicate, so do not overcook.
This recipe should serve:
12 Gnomes, or 10 Blood Elves, or 10 Night Elves, or 9 Undead, or 6 Humans, or 3 Trolls, or 3 Dwarves, or 3 Orcs, or 2 Draenei, or 1 Tauren

This looks pretty awesome.
Thanks for making a post about it, I'll make sure to follow it now. I'd never be able to find these things if it weren't for you guys.

I think Alchemistmerlin's sense of humor received a C&D.
Alchemistmerlin Jun 1st 2009 8:48PM
That would really only apply if what he said was even remotely funny.

Those recipes were really fun to make! I have to say that the Spice Bread isn't -that- good for you... o>_>o;; The protein shake, though, is amazing. I live off of that thing. :D
I'm really excited to see where this goes!
