I feel like I say this every time I post a trailer, but I guess I'll say it again. I'm often nervous about featuring machinima trailers, because while the trailer can be super-duper Sylar-as-Spock-level awesome, it seems like half the time, the trailer never materializes into a movie. However, sometimes trailers look so cool that I can't help but point them out anyway. Farinar Films has a pretty solid reputation for delivery, though, so take a second to check out The Peasant: Cost of Freedom.
The video looks absolutely gorgeous, and I can't wait to see the final production. Farinar's promising a dramatic, character-driven story, without any of the usual Action/Adventure tropes. It's supposedly much more focused on its protagonists' inner conflicts, which promises to make "The Peasant" much more interesting than standard fare.
Sometimes the trailer IS the movie, and there is NO plans to make anything further.
How many times has that happened to us, where we were blown away by a trailer for a movie, only to be let down by the real thing? Meh. Cut out the middle man.
Besides, a trailer is about the limit of my attention.....ooo, shiny.
Is there much less articles per day on wow.com now? A few weeks ago it seems that I would have no trouble spending at least 30min to an hour browsing the new articles about once a day but now I only seem to spend about 10 to 15 minutes here and still need my wow fix...
Am I right about the amount of articles these days as compared to a few weeks ago? Is it because the Ulduar patch has been out for a bit and the bloggers on wow.com don't have as much to say? Or maybe its all in my head..... dun dun dunnnnnnnn....
I've noticed the same thing. Since the new design it seems like there are just one or two interesting posts then a few fluff posts (like machina trailers or screenshots) each day.
It's because you *do* say that every time you feature a trailer; how about simply skipping to reviewing the movie itself instead of starting off every post regarding a trailer in a negative light; honestly, it isn't fair to the artist to assume they're guilty until proven innocent. If they don't follow through with their project, then so be it; that's their decision to make. So why not review the film itself, no matter how short, instead of letting your own disappointment at other artists influence your view of every other trailer people submit to you.
I'm very interested in seeing the final project; Westfall's one of my favorite zones, and the lore was fun there. I was actually a bit surprised it didn't involve the Defias at all.
There's a reason for that The movie takes place before the first war, and the defias weren't created before the end of the second war if not after. Also, I wanted to do something that wasn't written into the lorebooks of WoW but that didn't seem impossible and might have been "forgotten" (hence, the king employed the nobles and it more or less failed as you see in the trailer. - Who should have written it down?)
It will be finished, it's been a long running project with constant updates throughout via websites such as myndflame.com, if it were stopped now, i would be VERY surprised
Although, the trailer didn't end epic-ly enough for me, "welcome to a new age," probably should have made the voice actor shout that last bit out or something to make me want more, instead I am not THAT bothered, despite my love for all things machinima

This is perhaps the most epic trailer ever made.
Seriously.
About now, 25 % of the visuals are done :)

They may take our gold but they'll never take our freedom?
Wait a second...I've heard this premise someplace before.....*scratches chin*....and I think it's been overplayed more than a "new original" on TNT.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with the amount of news to report.
The site fluctuates. Back when WotLK was in Beta, I swear they had almost 30-50 posts a day. You could barely read them as fast as they posted them.
Then they calm down with time. Then even later a new patch comes out and there's a lot of news to report.
Chill back, enjoy the slower time, and when news comes back, the site will have lots of posts again.

The introduction read a bit like a fairy tale, which wasn't terrible.. but also not very intriguing. The title sequence was a nice switch, though.
